I’m disappointed Dr. Hinshaw is giving this approval.
But remember, she can’t refuse policy decisions by AB Health Minister or Premier. That’s who sets policy for Alberta workers health & safety. She can only recommend, not decide policy.

At the moment, she reports directly to Tyler Shandro. She doesn’t set policy. She recommends actions within the policy framework she is instructed to use.

Dr. Hinshaw can NOT order extra facilities be procured by the province so mats can be 2 metres apart. She must work with the resources provided to her and make the safest choice within that framework. I don’t envy her job. Kenney is obscuring malevolence behind her reputation.
It’s excruciatingly obvious who the Premier and the Health Minister are protecting.
