Will Menaker is the grandson of an FBI snitch. Chapo Trap House was a COINTELPRO project to redirect working class energy away from real, actionable change and towards impotent Daily Show-style snark, defanging any real threat to the neoliberal status quo.
Much in the same way that Richard Spencer (FBI asset) and company behaved as repulsively as possible in order to steer people away from nationalism, Chapo and their acolytes behaved as repulsively as possible in order to steer people away from economic populism. It was planned.
"Online movements" are either created by government agents or are heavily infiltrated by them. QAnon was similarly designed to make boomer patriots (and anyone who investigates high-level elite malfeasance) look like deranged maniacs. They will eventually all be arrested.
Don't join movements. They are all compromised. The government is smarter than you and has already seized the means of meme production. By the time you hear about a cool new online movement, it has already been hijacked by feds who will provoke you into ruining yourself. Fact.
