Seeing various forms of this argument: "Look at the Mid States (the Red ones!) they don't have any problem, its just those horrible "Blue" states.
Even saw "its Gods punishment on them".

Here is one ex & my retort.

Trump(ism) has finally matured into structural divisions.
Till now we have had as a foundational principle of the country E Pluribus Unum: "out of many, one."

Increasingly this has been under great stress, accelerated by Trump(ism). Now, under this great stressor, Trump(ism) is pushing this to the max. Trump is abdicating his
responsibilities to be a public servant; to understand the needs of the country in crisis, and respond with something akin to competence. Preferring instead to be "trump", the little, petty, but machiavellian, man he is, and use the times for his own ego-stroking & self-benefit.
It is easier to capitulate each of the individual states & communities as opposed to a unified country, coming together to meet a common enemy.

IMO, we have moved into the open phase of #TrumpsWarOnAmerica. Having gotten past the "Chamberlin" phase of appealing to common
values that, in fact, do not exist.

Trump fancies himself a "war president". Beside the laughable tin pot hat he wears thinking he is a leader, he is correct in this one POV: that he has been at war w the core values, norms, principles of the country since day 1.

Y'all have seen my rants against the Murray #COVID19 model.

It predicts OVERWHELMED hospitals in the next 2 weeks!

Now we have actual stats on our hospitals and the models have MASSIVELY OVERSTATED the impact.

Are we wrecking the economy for no good reason?!

What you're seeing is a wave (or as they say... the curve)

The big red mountain is what Murray is predicting for the ENTIRE country.

The blue line is the ACUTAL # of hospitalized
So based on the 40+ states which provide burden stats on hospitals Murray predicted that yesterday (April 1) we would been 103K beds for #COVID19 patients.

All of those states combined published that they ONLY had 30K beds with patients. and more than HALF of those were in NY

2/ You probably noticed how, people came forward to say that they'd reported the bomber for violent threats, and Twitter (as always) did nothing and (as always) now apologizes but (as always) won't say how they'll better handle. They won't, and I'll tell you one big reason why.
3/ to address complaints about threats and "improve the dialog" Twitter introduced the "quality filter." You see fewer threats and hate speech. BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THERE'S LESS OF IT.
