4/8 If the measure of a society is in how it cares for its most vulnerable, #COVID19 has revealed 🇨🇦’s weaknesses. We’ve seen devastating outcomes of COVID-19 in long term care/seniors’ residences, and others are vulnerable too.
5/8 People who are experiencing homelessness and precarious housing are at increased risk. Not having a home is an enormous barrier to maintaining vital #publichealth practices, like #physicaldistancing & #handhygiene.

6/8 Shelters need to have resources & supports in place for infection prevention & control to protect staff, clients, & guests. Without immediate action, there will be more outbreaks & avoidable deaths in these settings. #COVID19
7/8 Positive Steps: some municipalities have taken action to secure additional accommodation to ease crowding & facilitate physical distancing & #volunteers are helping to distribute hygiene essentials & meals to those in need. #ProtectTheVulnerable
