1. On May 22, I shared a thread on @UKLabour's #China policy and 🇨🇳🇬🇧relations in response to @telegraph report in light of @StephenKinnock’s Radix webinar remarks. I would like to address some of the relies and comments as follows,

2. The leadership of the Communist Party of China (#CPC)& #socialism is the choice of history and the Chinese people. #China tried bourgeois democracy but it failed dismally. Refer to my May 9 thread on the relationship between the CPC and the Chinese people.

3.“Authoritarian” is part of the Western narrative to discredit China’s political system, just like the label of “pro-democracy” protesters to glorify rioters in #HongKong. China practices socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics, not “authoritarianism”.

4. There is only #oneChina and #Taiwan is part of China. With regard to the Taiwan question and China’s reunification; why Taiwan can not be a member of any international organizations of sovereign states, please refer to my threads on May 12 & 14.

6. Since the return of Hong Kong to the motherland, China has implemented the pricinple of “one country, two systems”, “the people of Hong Kong governing Hong Kong,” and a high degree of autonomy.

Considering #HongKong’s situation at present, efforts must be made at the state-level to establish and improve the legal system and enforcement mechanisms for the HKSAR to safeguard national security, to change the long-term “defenseless”status in the field of national security.

Perhaps it is useful to share the words of UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 on the "Restoration of the lawful rights of the People’s Republic of China in the United Nations"

The General Assembly,
Recalling the principles of the Charter of the United Nations,

Considering that the restoration of the lawful rights of the People’s Republic of China is essential both for the protection of the Charter of the United Nations and for the cause that the United Nations must serve under the Charter,

Recognizing that the representatives of the Government of the People’s Republic of China are the only lawful representatives of China to the United Nations and that the People’s Republic of China is one of the five permanent members of the Security Council,

Decides to restore all its rights to the People’s Republic of China and to recognize the representatives of its Government as the only legitimate representatives of China to the United Nations, (contd)

and to expel forthwith the representatives of Chiang Kai-shek from the place which they unlawfully occupy at the United Nations and in all the organizations related to it.
