Acc to a recent survey 70% of leaders said the #corona pandemic has caused them extreme stress, with 46% reporting extreme anxiety or depression or both. Almost all leaders said they are under more pressure now than last year.#Yoga & Meditation helps Leaders in 7 ways .2/n
1)Become more creative & less reactive- Yoga reduces blood pressure, increases heart rate variability, eases respiration. This enables us to have more say & fliexiblity on our responses making us less volatile & more in control.3/n
2)Increases compassion & #empathy-Yoga & Meditation improve the temporopareital junction in the brain, which increases empathy & makes us more considerate to help our teams who are also going thru tough times. You can’t buy empathy, it has to come from within. Yoga does that. 4/n
3) Makes leaders calm & centered - Yoga moves us from sympathetic to parasympathetic nervous system, from fight/ flight to rest& digest. Results in less anxiety, more calm enhancing quality of decision making & ability to handle challenges. 5/n
4) Makes leaders more courageous to lead from the front- Think warrior pose! Yoga enhances latent talent, increases confidence & sense of can do. Leaders need this in times of crisis. 6/n
5)Makes leaders optimistic & positive- Yoga increases serotonin, reduces monomine oxidase & cortisol. Prefrontal cortex responsible for #happinesss becomes active. Critical so leaders can be happy & radiate #optimisim & cheer to the whole team in such times of gloom/ doom. 7/n
6) Increases #focus to improve productivity- Yoga improves coordination, memory, IQ scores! Improves ability to focus. Very imp for leaders in this time of WFH/ environmental distractions. Imp to deliver in times of business uncertainty.8/n
7) Improves resilience-Yoga helps overcome inertia & build resilience. Helps get rid of unwanted habits & nurture healthy habits. Try it. In a few days you will feel like a new person. This builds confidence & enables you to overcome any obstacle with grit & resilient mindset.9/9
