2/ While very few outbreaks in schools have been registered - they do occur, so the ECDC. But "if physical distancing and other measures are applied, schools are unlikely to be at higher risk than other facilities with similar densities of people."

3/ 15 EU/EEA countries replied to a survey on clusters in educational facilities. Only 1 country reported a cluster of >10 cases (4 stud./9 staff). The report does not mention Augustusburg (25 cases), Berlin (11), Günzburg (11)/#Germany.

4/ Transmission within #schools may not be a "major driver of COVID-19 incidence", *if* appropriate measures are applied: "rigorous implementation of physical distancing in order to reduce exposure in school settings where COVID-19 is circulating in the community."

4/ Measures in the community, such as social distancing, cancellation of mass gatherings, staying home if symptomatic, "remain integral to preventing schools from becoming a setting for accelerating onward transmission”, and must also be applied in schools themselves.

5/ Important for #Germany, where states abolished social distancing within classrooms: "Decisions on control measures in schools and school closures/openings should be consistent with decisions on other physical distancing and public health response measures within the community”
