CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Reports (MMWR) are authored by career scientists and serve to inform doctors, researchers and the public about how #COVID19 is spreading and who is at risk. Historically, these reports have have had NO political interference—they shouldn’t!🤬

‼️Caputo's team tried to BLOCK some reports, including on #hydroxychloroquine. The report—held for a month after Caputo’s team raised questions about authors’ political leanings—was published last week: "the potential benefits of these drugs do not outweigh their risks."💥

In one clash, an aide to Caputo berated CDC scientists for attempting to use the reports to "hurt the President" in an 8/8 email to CDC Director Robert Redfield and other officials that was widely circulated inside CDC.

SCIENTISTS SHOULD NOT BE POLITICALLY INFLUENCED ON DATA.🤬

Caputo lackey Paul Alexander called on Redfield to modify 2 already published reports that Alexander claimed “wrongly inflate the risks of #coronavirus to kids & undermined Trump's push to reopen schools.🤬

THEY TRIED TO HIDE EVIDENCE OF OUR KIDS BEING AT-RISK.🤬

Alexander: “CDC...appears to be writing hit pieces on the administration. CDC tried to report as if once kids get together, there will be spread & this will impact school re-opening...Very misleading by CDC and shame on them. Their aim is clear."🤬

CDC’s “aim” is to SAVE LIVES.

CDC officials have fought efforts to retroactively change reports but have increasingly allowed Caputo & team to review them before publication. Caputo also helped install CDC’s interim chief of staff, so Caputo would have more visibility into CDC.🤬

THEY ARE SPINNING THE DATA🤬

We physicians and scientists rely on CDC’s quality scientific reports, most especially during a historic #pandemic that has KILLED nearly 200,000 Americans.

Trump is DESPERATE to #coverup his TOTAL FAILURE of containing #coronavirus that he is cooking the books.🤬
