I began warning about this #coronavirus in JANUARY. If, instead of LYING about the threat, Trump had acted decisively in early February with a #lockdown and a consistent message to #WearAMask, social distance and wash hands, MANY THOUSANDS of American lives could have been saved.

🔥Woodward’s “Rage" also includes brutal assessments of Trump from many of his former top national security officials. Mattis is quoted as calling Trump "dangerous" and "unfit" to be commander in chief.

The deputy NSA told Trump it could be as bad as the 1918 influenza #pandemic that killed 50 million people, including 675,000 Americans. He warned about asymptomatic spread in China—50% of those infected had no symptoms.

At that time, there were <12 #coronavirus cases in the US.

‼️On February 7, Trump admitted, “It goes through the air. That's always tougher than the touch...But the air, you just breathe the air and that's how it's passed. And so that's a very tricky one. That's a very delicate one. It's also more deadly than even your strenuous flus."

Days later, Trump falsely claimed that the #coronavirus was "very much under control" & it would "disappear." On February 25, he said it was "a problem that's going to go away”—the next day he claimed "within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero."🤬

By March 19, Trump admitted the threat to young people. "Just today and yesterday, some startling facts & out. It's not just old, older. Young people too, plenty of young people.”

Yet Trump continues to LIE, saying as recently as August 5 that children were "almost immune."🙄

‼️At an April 3 #coronavirus task force briefing, Trump downplayed the threat: "I said it's going away and it is going away.” Yet days later, Trump told Woodward, "It's a horrible thing. It's unbelievable...It's so easily transmissible, you wouldn't even believe it."

‼️Trump boasted about a new secret weapons system. "I have built a nuclear—a weapons system that nobody's ever had in this country before.” Woodward says other sources confirmed the information, without providing further details, but expressed surprise that Trump disclosed it.😳

🚨Woodward reports new details on #Russia's🇷🇺election interference—NSA and CIA have evidence the Russians had placed malware in the election registration systems of at least two #Florida counties, St. Lucie and Washington.😳
