Chomsky’s speech for the Kurds ended up as an unexpected message to the world

Invited to hold a speech 4 the Rojava Uni’s 2nd semester in Qamishlo. Yet, his lecture had nothing to do with the Kurds’ experiment in NE Syria..

He didn't even mention the Kurds in his speech, and seemed to avoid mentioning ‘Rojava’ in the Q&A part of the meeting. Some might not like/support Chomsky, but this message is interesting for anyone to hear. The full 1,5h video is available on YouTube:

Chomsky kicked off by describing the utter importance of environmental issues the world is facing. He said: “The biggest question humans are facing now is: will humans extinct or continue to exist?”

Yet, Chomsky seems to believe the largest threat to mankind is mankind itself, especially the weapons of mass destruction its invents to continue its quest for world domination.

“We have been living under this threat since the enormous atrocities committed in the two sole incidents where a nuclear bomb was used, when the US threw them on Japan more specifically. Humans have self-extermination in their grasp.”

Chomsky recognizes Iran is under direct threat of the United States and Israel.

"If Iran has plans to develop nuclear weapons, it'll be as part of a strategy to deter its aggressive enemies Israel & US, that also have far more developed intelligence systems & weapons. If Iran really is a threat, every sane person should accept ending it peacefully."
