This is an interesting twitter axcount.
But it is run by Taxpayer dot com (the CTF) so I wouldn’t rely on it for any big scoops on the #UCP.

The CTF launched the careers of people like John Carpay, Derek Fildebrandt, Jeff Callaway, and Jason Kenney.

They have nothing but contempt for ordinary taxpayers.

https://t.co/Fsj9HDg9ry
Like the #UCP, taxpayer dot com exists to service the interests of the rich. They want social programs stripped away from those in need so that the wealthy can be givres tax breaks.

https://t.co/RS0L4PizUq
Most of what you’ll see in reporting like this is “normal” stuff, like #UCP MLAs patronizing businesses that supported their party’s efforts to fight against living wages for workers.

https://t.co/2fjoTPabXz
I don’t recognize many of the names.

https://t.co/2wT1LU8OaB
I wonder if you looked long enough at all the expenses that you’d start to see patterns.

https://t.co/1aIjUGYOQT
You don’t need this CTF run account to see those expenses. You can go straight to the Alberta government website.

(Municipalities have to disclose expenses like this too, I think.)

alberta.ca/travel-expense…
The great irony in taxpayer dot com complaining endlessly about nickel-and-dime expenses like this is that they are funded by foreign activist-billionaires who have gotten rich off of Alberta.

NHL is on tonight, so...

In 2019 #yyccc approved spending $290 Million on a new arena.

In 2018 there were 2911 homeless people in Calgary.

That’s about $99,622.12 going to support Billionaire N. Murray Edwards for each homeless person in the city.

“Coun. Evan Woolley convinced only three fellow councillors that reconsidering the taxpayer-funded portion of the arena was the way forward.”

Woolley was right.

Imagine having an opportunity to end homelessness and have a lasting legacy of fighing poverty but instead deciding to spend $613 Million to build a house for Billionaire Daryl Katz’s NHL team.

Imagine sending your city’s police force to rob Edmonton’s growing homeless population of their few belongings... when it’s below -30C outside.

The next day Daryl Katz would host Mark Chipman at the $613M house #yeg built.

Sometimes I wonder what I could have achieved in life if I spent my time in university attacking the rights of women and the LGBTQ community while pandering to religious zealots before dropping out instead of, you know, studying.
I don’t actually wonder this.

But after years of being told an entry-level job requires 6 degrees and 10 years experience using industry-specific software that’s only existed for 2, I get why some find it frustrating to see drop-outs elevated to top positions in society.
Imagine being told that the only way you’ll have a career that enables you to provide for a family of your own is to take on MASSIVE debt get a university education.

So you do that, but still struggle to get your foot in the door.

Where are all the promised “good” jobs?

When fascism comes to Alberta, it will be draped in the flag, wearing a NHL jersey over it’s l ❤️ O&G hoodie, and driving a blue truck.
...and the blue truck, a Dodge, won’t have mud flaps—which is a violation of section 64 of Vehicle Equipment Regulation of the Traffic Safety Act.

When fascism comes to Alberta, there will be well known, documented cases of it aldready making a career out of oppressing minorities and women.

People will not notice this.

They will see the flag, jersey, & hoodie, & think “it’s someone like me.”

We need to talk about misinformation.

@CalgaryCoop: why do you invite Trump-supporting publications to pollute the Co-op?

Retailers removed the MyPillow brand because of their support for Trump.

Why do you still do business with AMI & Postmedia?

#RemovePostmedia #abpoli ImageImage
The choice of the @calgarysun to post misinformation (the cover is an outright lie) from a Brian Lilley editorial is bad enough, but @CalgaryCoop you’ve chosen to subject your workers and customers to those lies.

Brian Lilley was a co-founder of Rebel Media.

#RemovePostmedia
Magazine brands that spread conspiracy theories like the National Enquirer and @nationalpost are incredibly damaging to society.

We have anti-mask rallies because of the acceptance of far-right conspiracy theories.

@CalgaryCoop, stop doing business with AMI. #RemovePostmedia

Thanks for tagging me, @BartMLL.

I basically never use FB, but I'm on my (very old) laptop today.

Let's get some screen shots.
"Today I decided to head up the Oldman to see what the coal companies have been getting up to. I forgot, however, that the forestry trunk road is closed at Dutch Creek each winter, ostensibly for wildlife protection. So I parked at the locked gate and started hiking."
