LoC #CeaseFire Reaffirmation Decoded. #thread

For nearly two weeks the villages along LoC are witnessing days and nights without the sound of guns and bombs as the DGMOs of the two nations announced reaffirmation of the #India - #Pakistan ceasefire agreement.
It is pertinent to mention that the cease-fire was asked by #Pakistan. Although, the agreement is reported to be a result of week long back-channel discussions, what made Pakistan walk on this road? Here is a quick analysis.
#India’s hardened approach to #Pakistan with cross-border surgical strikes after the #Uri terror attack & upped the ante further with the #BalakotAirStrikes following #Pulwama terror attack has made it clear that no more diplomatic resolves will opt until Pakistan mends its way
This had caused quite a flutter in #Pakistan as it had become used to #India absorbing terror attacks and not retaliating.
Economic Distress in #Pakistan
#FATF grey-listing has put impediments on the flow of international financing & #IMF is only lending under stringent conditions.
Also, from the other directions CPEC is in some financial distress; buffeted by attacks from #Baluch freedom fighters.
Bold move of #India of abrogating article 370 & article 35 A has stamped #Pakistan as the move has been widely accepted around the globe as an internal matter of India. Also, the acceptance of move by locals of #Kashmir after the brief repulsion has hit it with a pinch of salt.
#ImranKhan is under tremendous internal as well as external political pressure. The recent by-elections in the provinces have shown a clear wave of public disgruntlement against his government. The pressure put on by global powers has made the situation worse for him.
On Feb 2, General #Bajwa, #Pakistan's army chief, said 'time to extend a hand of peace in all directions' and the 'need to resolve' the Kashmir issue in 'a dignified and peaceful manner'. This came when his puppet is under extreme political pressure.
Irrespective of the reason behind it, it is good news for India. But, as a saying goes “a leopard cannot change its spots”, which makes it hard to trust #Pakistan in the matter as it has multiple times in past violated ceasefire.

#FahadShah @tkwmag unveiled. #Thread

The Kashmir Walla @tkwmag better known for spreading hatred in its articles, landed in hot waters this time. On 27 Jan @tkwmag falsely claimed that Jamia Siraj-ul-Uloom school in Shopian was “pressurized by army” to hold Republic day function Image
The article became an embarrassment for @pzfahad & @tkwmag when the school authorities of Jamia Siraj-Ul-Uloom released an official statement clarifying that no such compulsion was there from the army or police & the news reported by @tkwmag was totally baseless. Image
Now an FIR has been rightly registered against @tkwmag in this regard for peddling fake news, & once again for the umpteenth number of time @tkwmag is playing the victim card & talking about "freedom of press". Image

Deradicalisation of #Kashmir Youth, need of the hour. #Thread.

The valley has been bearing the brunt of radicalisation that has the potential to destroy the future generation of #Kashmir. Its a ticking time bomb that needs to be addressed at the earliest.
The gradual erosion of #Sufism is an indicator of the growing radicalisation in #Kashmir. Sufism faces a stiff competition from the Wahhabi brand of Islam as preached in Saudi Arabia & other parts of the world.
Sufi shrines are being burnt and there has hardly been any public outcry regarding the same, indicating the waning influence of the Hanafis. With the abundance of Saudi money, Wahhabi followers are gradually taking over Hanafi masjids in the valley.

19 years ago, on 20 Jan 2002, 4 Lashkar-e-Taiba #terrorists massacred 11 civilians, including eight children & a woman, & injured three others at a small village of Behra in Poonch, Jammu & #Kashmir.
The only fault of those innocent souls was that they refuse to be a part of the cycle of violence, they refused to shelter the four gun wielding LeT #terrorists.

The cold hearted killers did not even hesitate to kill eight innocent children, what kind of Jihad justifies the killing of innocent kids.

The assassinations of #MirwaizFarooq & #AbdulGhaniLone that reveals the ugly face of #Pakistan’s proxy war in #Kashmir. A #Thread

Pakistan is a festered wound in the lives of #Kashmiris that has been eating away the soul of Kashmir for decades now.
Some sane leaders in #Kashmir who saw through the devilish design of #Pakistan & tried to save its people from this snake in the grass were either sidelined or worse killed in cold blood.
This includes the two most influential leaders of Kashmir #MirwaizFarooq & #AbdulGhaniLone.
What happened with them?
At 7:15 p.m. on 13 Feb 1990, #terrorists shot Lassa Kaul, 45, director of the government-run #television station as he stepped from a vehicle in front of his home.
It shook Mirwaiz Farooq, Lassa Kaul was his dear friend.
