Very good to see how clearly the #IntegratedReview prioritizes #Europe & the #UK role via #NATO
Also good to see that cooperation with the #EU in the area of #security is specifically referenced.

The #IntegratedReview appropriately highlights #geopolitical & #geoeconomic shifts and the importance of the #IndoPacific while being realistic about what #UK #capabilities can achieve in that part of the world (emphasis on diplomacy & partnerships).
Important: The #IntegratedReview|s emphasis on #science & #technology as major components of national #security & an arena of systemic #competition. #Germany should take note: Investments in key technologies are urgently needed & some ought to count towards #defense spending.
Whether or not people agree with aspects of the #UK #IntegratedReview - it's an excellent example of a comprehensive whole-of-government effort, the kind we at MSC argued for last year in our #Zeitenwende report.
Chapter 6 of our MSC #Zeitenwende report focused on strategic culture and specifically the need for #Germany to introduce a whole-of-govt #strategy document. I hope our next government will look into adopting a format akin to #IntegratedReview
