A young woman in Mali gave birth to nine babies on Tuesday - joining a very rare club of mothers to nonuplets. The miraculous pregnancy of 25-year-old Halima Cisse has fascinated the people of the West African country. #nonuplets #9babies
newsbytesapp.com/news/world/mal…
In fact, when doctors in March advised Cisse needed specialist care, authorities flew her to Morocco, where she gave birth. "The newborns - five girls and four boys - and the mother are all doing well," shared Mali's Health Minister, Fanta Siby. #Nonuplets #newbornbaby
Cisse and her babies are expected to return home in a few weeks, she added. Cisse was initially believed to have been carrying septuplets - a set of seven babies born at once. #septuplets #nonuplets #birth #childbirth #Maliwoman #Pregnancy #babies
That was because doctors had missed two babies in ultrasound examinations conducted in both Mali and Morocco, according to a statement by Mali's Health Ministry. All the nine babies were delivered by caesarean section, reports say. #MaliHealthMinistry #nonuplets #csection
Nonuplets are extremely rare. Further, medical complications in such births mean that some of the babies may not survive until full term. The first reported set of nonuplets was in Sydney, Australia in the 1970s. #Nonupltes #childbirth #pregnancy #babies #Sydney
However, none of the babies could survive. In 2009, a woman in the United States successfully gave birth to octuplets, with all the eight babies surviving past birth.

Zoo officials had decided to test the lions after wildlife veterinarians at the facility noticed coronavirus-like symptoms such as coughing, nasal discharge, and a loss of appetite among some of the lions. #COVIDEmergency2021 #Wildlife #NehruZoologicalPark

Indian as well as foreign media have struggled to find that out, but to no avail. Even Union Ministries in India are unable to offer much clarity on the issue. An officer said that all the foreign aid is being received by the Indian Red Cross. #aid #RedCross #IndiaNeedsOxygen
It is then sent to the Ministry of External Affairs, and thereafter, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Home Affairs step in for domestic distribution. However, reportedly, no Ministry offered any details about the distribution of COVID-19 relief consignments. #Ministry
