🕯️Today, on the 80th anniversary of the mass deportations in the Baltic states by the #Soviet Union occupation forces, we are yet again reminded of the crimes perpetrated by this bloody regime:
▪️ On the night of 13–14 June 1941, the NKVD, the #Soviet secret service, started the operation aimed at purging the Baltic space of the most active anti-Soviet forces.
▪️ Tens of thousands of people were deported to the #Soviet Far East without trials in whole families (check the infographic below for the breakdown by countries).
▪️ The month of June also marks deportations from the territories of other countries occupied by the #Soviet regime: #Poland (mostly present-day West #Belarus and western #Ukraine) and #Moldova.
▪️ Mass deportations were an integral part of the #Soviet system, taking various forms, from the removal of the so-called “anti-Soviet” elements to deportations of entire nationalities.
▪️ Overall, the total number of victims of different forms of #Soviet repression in the years 1940/1941 is estimated at 34,000 in #Latvia, 60,000 in #Estonia, and 75,000* in #Lithuania.

The number of cases related to “falsifying history” has been steadily growing in recent years in Russia, according to the human rights group Agora. The topics of #WWII and the role of the #USSR are traditionally the most “risky" among the cases of persecution.

⚔️The command of the Russian Black Sea Fleet is creating a large-scale “military-patriotic center “Vanguard” for young people near the city of Saki in occupied #Crimea.
The so-called “Council of Ministers of the Republic” on Tuesday allocated land for this project, namely two neighboring sites: one of 6.2 hectares in area, the other — 3.9 hectares.
The practice of involving children in military training and propaganda has long become a norm in #Russia and the territories it has occupied. Сhild militarization has become an inseparable part of the governmental policy aimed at preparing for expanding military aggression.

The perpetrator, the former fighter of the terrorist groups of so-called "LNR", was caught while planting the explosive device in the car of the military specialist.
As the SBU specialists discovered, he had entered the controlled territory of #Ukraine from the #Russian Federation and planned to commit the terrorist attack on the instructions of the special services of the aggressor country.
