1] Essential blog Post from @ShonaghDillon of @AuroraNewDawn

An analysis of evidence submitted to the #GRA consultation by #VAWG services

A must read for @ManduReid @TabithaMortonWE & all women who have survived #MVAWG

A shame to see @WEP_UK missing

'Out of 837 submissions there are only six (that I can find and I did trawl through all of them but could well have missed one), from organisations that work within the male violence against women movement'

Here is the Caucus submission
wepsbr.com/caucussubmissi…
3] Women's Aid UK ❤️STOOD UP FOR WOMEN ❤️

Women-only spaces provide a physically and emotionally safe environment that is vital to survivors’ recovery and empowerment after experiencing domestic and sexual violence and other forms of violence against women and Girls

@womensaid Image
4] NIA ❤️STOOD UP FOR WOMEN ❤️

'a trauma informed approach...means excluding men from their recovery space, it does not matter whether or not these males identify as trans, nor does it matter whether they themselves are or have been abusive'

@nia_endingVAWG @FemicideCensus Image
5] The Pankhurst Trust ❤️STOOD UP FOR WOMEN❤️

'Our experience.. provides substantial evidence of the extreme methods some perpetrators are willing to use to access women’s spaces.. to continue to perpetrate their abusive behaviour, posing a very real risk'
@PankhurstCentre Image
6] @scotwomensaid 💔 DID NOT STAND UP FOR WOMEN

'There are no Rape Crisis services in Scotland which require sight of someone’s birth certificate prior to accessing their services'

Little surprise as stat funding is not available to Scot orgs that use single-sex exceptions Image
7] Worth noting that many leading experts working under the umbrella of Scot Rape Crisis disagree, but the chilling effect of #nodebate & inclusive funding clauses means orgs are prevented from protecting women

Women silenced by abusers & their advocates
💔 #VAWG #MeToo Image
8] Suffolk rape Crisis 💔DO NOT STAND UP FOR WOMEN

'Loudly and proudly trans inclusive'
yet also boasting
'@suffolk_rc is a feminist org one of the few remaining completely women only centres in England & Wales'

Would you like a side of gaslighting with your trauma? Image
9] Survivors Network not only fails to stand for women, but slams the door in our face 💔

'Policing gender expression and defining someone’s womanhood by her conformity to state-sponsored specifications is an archaic practice'

@SurvivorsnetBtn Image
10] and it gets worse 💔

Brighton's only @RapeCrisisEandW service actively thinks that single sex exceptions in law should be removed

Only men rape & @SurvivorsnetBtn think women should not have male free spaces

Women have objected, all concerns have been ignored Image
11] To read @ShonaghDillon's thesis in full ❤️

This is vital, and uplifting research in how the sector can navigate this & protect women

@ManduReid @TabithaMortonWE we welcome a meeting on this issue

13] And if for some staggering reason, you don't think #sexmatters & having @RapeCrisisEandW services lobby to remove single sex exceptions from law, then we urge you to read this too

1] Disappointing to see @TabithaMortonWE stating that Sani's What Is A Woman is a 'MUST read'

The article starts with a bizarre interpretation of Bouvoir, & suggests 'British Feminism' has toxic corners when it comes to women discussing their own sex

prospectmagazine.co.uk/magazine/what-…
@TabithaMortonWE The article uses images of the Hijra. India ruled in 2014 that a third gender marker & 3RD spaces, so no, this is not the 'corners of British feminism' discussing this

Many Hijra are openly gay men because of Indian homophobia (homosexuality is illegal)

theguardian.com/world/2014/apr….
3] The article also talks about sexed/gendered brains

To clarify @WEP_UK there is no such thing as a sexed brain, this is the rhetoric of misogynists and sexists.

This is not the official position of WEP @ManduReid nor any scientist in 2021

#IStandWithMaya ❤️

We hope @WEP_UK @WEP_Scot @WEP_Wales @ManduReid are following Maya Forstarter's appeal today

An appeal that gets to the very crux of women's rights in the UK today- women's right to say #sexmatters

Case details 👇🏿

It is vital that @WEP_UK get to grips with the issues at the crux of this appeal

It is also key that the @EHRC is intervening on behalf of Maya & indicates how far we have come despite the silence of our feminist leaders at WEP

#IStandWithMaya #SexMatters
WEP bursts at the seams with radical, women centred policies ❤️ & our leader @ManduReid is smart, compassionate & down to earth ❤️

However we have left the heavy lifting of defending #womensrights to those without the protection & weight that we have as a party.

We are really disappointed to see prominent members of @WEP_UK use #LesbainVisibilityWeek to promote ideas such as 'cis lesbian'

@WEP_UK has agreed that 'cis' is an offensive & reductive term

WE say no to the homophobic erasure of #lesbians
No lesbian has a penis
#LVW21
Lesbian's are same sex attracted. In law this is described as an orientation. This is key as this embeds the idea that lesbianism is not a choice or a kink.

It is this terminology that has protected lesbians (in law) against conversion, punishment, shaming & corrective rape.
When #Stonewall changed their definition from 'same sex attracted' to 'same gender attracted' (to include males) this undermines the legal protections as listed above

Essential legal protections that #lesbians fought for 💔

The callous nature of our 'immigration' system manifests itself into daily horrors

When we campaigned for the end of Yarl's wood style detention facilities did we imagine that this would lead into a further lowering of standards in 'open accommodation'

theguardian.com/global-develop…
'open' facilities like Brigstock house are staffed and families are essentially under a curfewed house arrest.

UKBA documents outlining it's plans claim that vulnerable families with specific medical needs are “not suitable for the open accommodation.”

refugeecouncil.org.uk/information/re…
UK’s history shows that they disregard such concerns unless forced to revise its decisions by campaigners/courts
100's of torture victims, people with HIV, pregnant women, children & people with serious medical problems have been swallowed by the brutal detention machine Image

The opening testimony from at the @WEP_UK members assembly on self ID stated that 'trans women face the same risks from men as women and girls do'....🧐.

Time for a #WEPfactcheck

#debateisnothate
The UK is one of the safest EU countries to live. In fact there were no reported transgender murders in the UK at all in 2016. Since the start of the Trans Murder Monitoring project in 2008 there has been on average just under 1 transgender person murdered in the UK each year.
The question we can now ask is whether transgender people at a higher risk of being killed than the average person? The data analysis suggests that they are not.
