Some exs of Rag Tag Militants that created #Anarchist Wars miserably & failed to live up to the expectations of their followers->
1. Congo after removal of Mobutu
2. Iran after removal of Shah Reza
3. MENA Countries that embraced Arab Spring
4. Lebanon Civil War
5. Afghanistan
it's very easy to give a call to arms and declare war against the status quo.
We have seen many famous leaders who turned from being promising #revolutionaries into lunatic #populists, and later mutated further into #Anarchists.
Iconoclastic fervour always fails!
Where Iran stood before the ouster of Shah Reza and where it stands today is to be seen by all.
The Iranians were promised a complete social and economic revolution package based on a religious interpretation of problems and methodology by the Clergymen.
Iran turned into a Pariah
The so-called Holy Warriors who were fighting the Soviet Army, in Afghanistan, didn't stop the war even after driving the Marxists out of their country.
They continued the civil war & completely destroyed Kabul City back in the 1990s
That resulted in the emergence of the Taliban
When Milton Obote's Marxist Government was unceremoniously dismissed by Idi Amin in Uganda, the military junta undertook all kinds of reforms, to impress the natives.
One of them was to expel the Indian Community living mainly in #Kampala.
That led to an economic disaster.
Africa and Latin America are littered with examples of failed anarchist movements, & incomplete revolutions.
All countries which experimented with Scientific Socialism ended up in the ditch.
Not much of a difference between the Marxist Revolution & Anarchism
Both preach violence.
We have seen a litany of failures since the end of the Great War.
Race-based Fascism and Totalitarianism inspired by Social Darwinism, Marxism having various variants, and later the resurgence of Political Religion around the world.
What Modi is doing to Moslems in India an e.g
With all due respect to South Africa and #ANC, what have they done to their country in the Post-revolutionary phase?
What happened to #Rhodesia post-Lancaster House Agreement? How #Mugabe, the great revolutionary leader, destroyed the Zimbabwean economy?
More examples to follow!
what #Nkrumah did to Ghana?
why was he removed by the military when he was visiting India? Because he imposed himself as the lifetime president of the country, a common thing which all unsecured revolutionaries and anarchists do!
The case study of Julius Nyre in Tanzania shows how collectivism failed its people.
Revolution failed to put food on the table for the ordinary Tanzanian.
Nationalized Industries became inefficient and poverty became widespread.
The Derg in Ethiopia presents the most classic case study of how a socialist revolution, especially with Marxist Leninist Tentacles, can go awfully wrong!
Ethiopia due to collectivization of Agriculture led to massive nationwide famine.
Next door neighbour Somalia also suffered on the account of Revolutionary Socialist Policies, which led to the downfall and utter destruction of that nation.
General Farah Aideed, led his country into civil war, which still continues and Somalia is split into three!
Vietnam, which did manage to use revolution and Marxism to defeat colonialists, did put an end to the collectivist experiments after winning the war.
They learned their lessons fast, and Moi Doi reforms inspired by the Open Policy of the Chinese did a lot of good to the country.
of course, no discussion on Revolution, Counter-revolution and Anarchism is complete without saying a few words on Cuba.
The Batiste Regime was booted out by Castro and his militants, but, how much has that country benefitted is a hotly debated topic in development studies.
The Cuban Rural Poor did see a gradual improvement in its living standards.
That is an undeniable empirical fact.
Castro did develop a world-class education system, health care and social care systems, and provided much-needed justice to the peasants.
That worked up to 1991.
Now, if you visit Havana, you will be thronged by call girls and poor kids from all sides.
Its a place stuck in time, with antiquated cars on the streets, women carrying ration cards to empty shops, and with little to no luxury on offer to the poor.
That shows Revolution FAILED!
Another interesting case study of how Anarchism without an ideology or philosophy can wreak havoc is that of former Yugoslavia.
Once, militant wars broke out in Bosnia and other places, it completely exposed the fault lines which Tito had managed to hide under his rule.
Cambodia was not a Marxist Revolution, according to some Communist Apologetics.
It was murderous anarchy!
The killing fields of Cambodia still haunt those who visit the country.
Pol Pot and his murderous regime destroyed the entire nation through forced urban-rural migrations.
Thank God, Sukarno was removed in Indonesia, otherwise, his Revolution would have turned into Anarchism.
The man was the Gaddafi of the SE Asian.
Lunatic.
Mixed Marxism and Islam together to confuse the poor masses.
well, what we refer to as Anarchism, Fascism, Revolution and Counter-revolution in the East, is often described as an ancillary school of thought hinged to #Romanticism, which affected the European Philosophy and Literary Movements as told by Isaiah Berlin.
Don't want to confuse the readers.
What we see in Afghanistan today is neither a revolution nor a counter-revolution.
Its simple and pure anarchy festering on the back of Pashtun Identity Politics masquerading as a liberation movement.
Orthodoxy does not liberate! IT INCARCERATES

There is a vested commercial interest in increasing #complexity around everything.
Some scholars and intellectual propagandists would like to make things appear overly complicated because that is how they can make money.
#Complexity problem can be broken down by asking relevant straightforward questions and providing equally relevant simple-minded answers which address the root causes and understands the effects.

Many students doing basic mathematics cannot distinguish between #iteration, #simulation, and #emulation as different methods of experiment design.
Even further surprised why so many students don't know the similarity and the difference between computation and calculation.
These are some of the basic mistakes which one, embedded into the mind, will work their way right into a workplace and destroy our educational foundations
For, e.g. when I was teaching Introduction to FRM Financial Risk Management, I noticed many students thought they are three different types of VaR - Value at Risk.
What they didn't realize is that VaR can be computed using different models aka methodologies, namely, HS, VCV, MCS.

Did the #Irish Central Bank provide sovereign guarantees to buyers of Irish Bank Bonds and other contractual debt liabilities classified as fixed income securities, before the #GFC struck?
I asked this question after watching Professor Kelly on YouTube.
He was describing how the #Irish Central Bank allowed banks to import capital in large sums, and later lend it out to housing finance borrowers.
That created a severe #ALM Mismatch, as homes are not liquid assets.
Only after the #GFC, did the Irish and other banks realize that a run on the #deposits could lead to financial #insolvency.
#Ruin #Risk by definition is the gap between Unexpected #Loss and Expected Loss.
As the gap increases, the chances of financial ruin and #default rises too!

How do you prepare for an investor relations interview at a large asset management company managing multiple funds?
Speak with confidence, dress well and above all use an impressive array of financial jargon and cutting edge terms, as many as you can, to make the employer feel comfortable.
In modern times, you should also be familiar with some data science concepts.
E.g. how data visualization tools can help the customer extract value from the research reports.
