Long thread by Mr. Harriot, unrolled at threadreaderapp.com/thread/1446514….

His basic argument is that Gifted & Talented programs are #RACIST!!! and show class privilege, and reflect nothing but the income of the parents.

This happens to be untrue.
His same arguments, when he has them, are made in relation to IQ tests, and they have been shot down again and again. E.g., the racial differences in the IQ distribution remain when you use tests without language, like progressive matrices. Or adjust for parental income.
He makes the elementary logical fallacy of imputing anti-black racism to teachers for watching black kids more closely for misbehavior, when the reverse may be true: a demonstrated history of misbehavior results in greater surveillance.
He cherry picks studies whose results he likes, and ignores the ones whose results he dislikes, such as the ones indicating that no intervention or environmental change has any lasting effect on scholastic achievement or IQ.
On average, black, Latino, and American Indian students don't achieve as much in schools as whites and Asians. This is a reality demonstrated again and again, despite huge efforts to obfuscate or alter it.
Why? Pick your own preferred answer. Now tell me, what would serve to DISPROVE it?

Probably nothing because of the high emotions involved. But emotional rejection of reality won't change the facts.
BTW, if the results DID reflect nothing but class background, so what? Some kids do learn much more quickly and easily than others. Requiring them to sit in the same classes as those who learn slowly and laboriously benefits neither group.
And ascribing group differences in outcomes to #RACISM!!! doesn't benefit the groups involved either. In fact, it makes things worse for both.

What Sky says. The "multiple major outlets" don't want to admit what anyone with a brain knows, things like 'some people who claim to be supporting a political cause are liars', and 'when you put males into the same space as naked women, many of the women will be distressed'.
So when news of the Wi Spa incident began to circulate, the "major outlets" REFUSED to investigate. They eagerly swallowed a story about how the whole tale was made up, and that the mother who complained was an #evil #transphobe.

Andy Ngo DID investigate the story.
Ngo found out the incident probably had occurred, and that the police had charged someone. QUIETLY charged the someone. LAPD wasn't very eager to publicize this.

.#Protip: A nice example of deception, this. A calm reasonable tone. Who would guess Mr. William is #lying?

Yes, go read the letter at web.archive.org/web/2021093010… Although there are frequent mentions of "threats," the examples given are people showing up at school board meetings
and angrily opposing policy. Why, some of them even shouted, and made other loud noises. The Horror! Oddly, when done by #Leftists, this is regarded as perfectly legitimate.

The letter references a news story on said "threats." Read the story, web.archive.org/web/2021090116…, and the
"threats" turn out to be people shouting, and failing to show the proper respect to school boards.

The letter says "the classification of these heinous actions could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes."

#Protip: This is interesting numeric propaganda. Fried makes claims, but doesn't release data to support them.

And if what I can deduce from the figures is correct, I can claim masks made covid infections AS MUCH AS THREE TIMES WORSE THAN COUNTIES WITH NO MASK REQUIREMENTS!!!
How can that be? We have to plod through some numbers, that make plausible guesses about the data not shown.

If you go down the thread, you get a link to a spreadsheet that is less than self-explanatory. After clicking on column P, and doing some formulas, things clarify.
We have forty-five school districts with no mask requirements, with data for only 15. The number of "cases" listed in columns B through H seems to be the sum of staff and student cases. The cases in I are the total for that district, through the week ending September 20th.

In an article in THE AMERICAN SPECTATOR, spectator.org/so-you-want-a-…, Scott McKay writes:

“We’re going to find out over the next three years, with the 2022 midterms and the 2024 presidential cycle, just how far removed we are from a return to
something akin to constitutional governance under the principles of federalism and whether it can be reclaimed.”

It's sad, but predictable, that people just can't bring themselves to face the facts.

Scott, we already know how far we are removed from constitutional governance.
Infinitely far. To embrace constitutional governance is to repeal the New Deal, the Great Society, and just about everything else the U.S. govt. does. That is not going to happen. You know that as well as I do.

I can't see a sensible case for deliberate release. Think it through.

"Let's commit an act of war against the whole world. We'll use a bat virus, and start it in the only place in OUR country that studies these things. We won't have a plausible path for species jump. We also
won't have a plausible cover story in place. When it starts to spread IN #Wuhan, we'll take actions that make it clear to any discerning person we are covering up something. And we'll make sure to leave incriminating information up for others to find."
Any strategist would try to have a plausible species-jump story, would release it in southern #China, and would be ready to do lots of phony cooperation to burnish the govt.'s image while the disease spread.

This #NYTimes piece on #Biden is #interesting. It'is almost honest.

The reporters express surprise that #SenileJoe is siding with the #Dem #Left. Maybe they really ARE surprised. If they are, it just shows they were conned as thoroughly as most of the country was in 2020.
It’s now clear that Biden had a three part agenda: 1) Get elected #POTUS. 2) Pass a lot of very expensive government programs. 3) Go down in history as an #FDR or #LBJ, a president who permanently transformed American society.
#Joe’s problem was that 2) endangered 1). He needed to pretend to be “moderate” to get elected. So he ran a campaign that came down to ‘#OrangeManBad, #SenileManGood, and let’s not talk about what I’ll do in office.’ And it worked. He got the #DemocraticParty united behind him.
