The main cause for #DifferentiatedIntegration is diversity. What we found out that there are 2 major types of heterogeneity in the EU
1) Old vs. new member states
2) Level of integration of core state powers

In the Danish case, after their opt-out in 1992, they started applying certain legislation, i.e. Schengen

According to the 2019 EP resolution on #DifferentiatedIntegration, #DI should remain open, maintaining the idea of inclusiveness and the aspect of temporality, no permanent opt-outs.
