After the recent military drills in the Taiwan region, #China’s spokesperson of the Eastern Theater Command said they will closely observe the situation in the Taiwan Straits and regularly organize combat readiness security patrols to safeguard national sovereignty.#CrossStrait
According to Chinese military expert and TV commentator Song Zhongping, “combat readiness” means #China will carry out security patrols to expel enemy planes and ships whenever its sovereignty is threatened, fully equipping with weapons and personnel.

#CrossStrait
In the white paper on the Taiwan question published on Wednesday, #China explicitly criticized Taiwan separatists for endangering cross-strait stability and detailed the important role of the U.S. to strictly abide by the #OneChinaPrinciple in both words and deeds.

Global experts saw China’s open military drills as “restrained” to just deter separatist forces and foreign interference in cross-strait affairs. Kunihiko Miyake, the research director at The Canon Institute for Global Studies, said China’s reaction was “controlled and reserved.”
According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, China will continue to take necessary and legitimate steps when the #OneChinaPrinciple is “willfully challenged or even sabotaged.”
