A reasonably quiet start to Monday so far for #Ukraine, but more explosions in occupied #Kherson.

This big explosion just one of the blasts heard right in the centre of Kherson itself, on vulitsya Parovozna.

#Russia has suffered big losses in Kherson region the past 24 hours.

What is interesting in #Kherson and other occupied areas in the south, is how confident and successful #Ukraine's pilots are becoming.

🇺🇦planes reportedly struck 8 Russian bases y'day. They claim destruction of 41 soldiers, Uragan and Pantsir are defence systems and 6 vehicles.

Yesterday I reported on the killing of a top traitor. All main media in #Ukraine have now reported this story. But there are contradictions, e.g. was he stabbed or shot?

Some now believe it was a "staged death", a way for Kovalev to make a new life in🇷🇺

The number of people injured in the attack on #Enerhodar has increased to nine.
Two of those are in intensive care.

There's still no proof on which side carried out the shelling, but suspicion hangs over the Russians.

Some reports of explosions in occupied #Makeevka in #Donetsk region.

However this video is not conclusive.

Air raid sirens in a few regions in #Ukraine right now including #Kharkiv.

Meanwhile it's reported there are several explosions in the small town of #Synelnykove in Dnipropetrovsk region. Already plumes of smoke before dawn breaks.

Another well above average day for #Russia's losses in the war.

Well done to the FSB which for years fails to find the killers of dissidents such as Boris Nemtsov, yet has seen up the Dariya Dugina case double quick.

They claim "agent" Bohdan Tsyganenko helped Ms Vovk with fake plates, passports and the IED used to target the car.

At its daily briefing, #Russia's Defence Ministry claims to have captured the village of #Kodema, around 15km south of #Bakhmut.

They also claim to have killed 100 #Ukraine troops in #Marhanets and 70 more in another Command Post in #Dnipropetrovsk region.

#Ukraine's armed forces say they've broken through "the first line of Russian forces" near #Kherson

With more strikes on all transport bridges in the region no real way to reinforce or leave with equipment from west of the river

And another🇺🇦 "hit" on RU dumps in #NovaKakhovka

Already today there have been plenty of explosions in occupied #Donetsk.

The city centre, Hladkivka and Kyivskyi areas all hit by rockets.

#Russia's attempts to sweep war crimes under the carpet forever continue in #Mariupol

The Occupiers say the theatre is an historic architectural monument. Ukrainians point out it's neither - just a typical Soviet-era theatre.

At least 600 died here, but it was likely 1,000

#Mykolaiv has been under attack for the last half hour.
Two waves of missiles and air raid sirens still sounding.

Unclear right now how many rockets have hit, but the city centre has seen at least one direct hit and a fire is now burning at the scene.

Much written today about the 'start' of #Ukraine's counter-offensive to regain #Kherson

In my opinion it's a misleading headline. The campaign started weeks ago when #HIMARS began reducing #Russia's capability in the region.
Don't expect quick ground movement unless RU retreats.

Occupiers say fresh fuel for reactors is stored there.

#Ukraine is adamant Russia is creating a false flag event to gain support and threaten all Europe.

Update from #Mykolaiv (RU: #Nikolaev) - there are reports of one confirmed death and possibly more under rubble in the centre of the city.

Missiles are not falling now but an air raid warning remains in place.

President Zelenskyy repeats peace talks with #Russia can't happen yet:

"They do not want negotiations. This is an ultimatum, we must recognise that Donbas & Crimea are Russian territories. Recently, they said that #Ukraine should also recognise the south as Russian territories."

Nova Dmytrivka, Arkhanhel's'ke, Tomyna Balka and Pravdyne. Just two months ago Ukraine liberated #Pravdyne.

It's likely #Russia's army is pulling back a little to consolidate with supplies stretched.

An interesting side-note to today's news that @nokia & @ericsson are leaving #Russia by the end of 2022 after finishing contractual obligations.

#Moscow will have to work with Chinese technology. While Beijing can be a useful ally, Russia will hate knowing China can eavesdrop.

The massive shelling of #Russia's military positions last night is well underway again tonight in the south of #Ukraine.

#Kherson, #NovaKakhovka #Berdyansk and #Melitopol' have all seen rocket strikes.

Here, a 15-minute firework display in #NovaKakhovka earlier, by all accounts. Even less ammunition for #Russia to defend itself with.

Looks like there's a problem with Twitter on laptop. The app still works but very difficult to work on the phone.
So I'm going to read messages and hope the problem is fixed soon.

Still no laptop access to Twitter and there is a fairly global problem it would seem.

Nothing like the problems facing #Russia! This is #Belgorod, just over the border from #Kharkiv. Webcams capture a lot of activity and explosions, maybe not all air defences.
