The impact of π·πΊ πΊπ¦ war on #Africa
π§΅(1/10)
African countries, which have been out of πΊπ¦ attention for a long time, have now become relevant due to #RussiaUkraineWar. The economic circumstances of war with blocking the export of πΊπ¦ goods abroad affect Africa to a greater extent.
Beyond food security, Africa is a region where Western influence is waning and the presence of Turkey, China and Russia is growing. Modern Africa consists of the former colonies of Great Britain, France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Portugal and Italy. (2/10)
After gaining their independence in the 1960s and 1980s, the newly formed countries began to focus not only on the West. Since the "cold war" was going on at that time, Moscow became a certain "alternative" and at the same time a sponsor of African countries. (3/10)
Today, π·πΊ uses the image of Moscow formed during the USSR as a state that provided comprehensive financial, military and diplomatic assistance to African states 40-50 years ago. But the situation has changed and China has become the most important economic player. (4/10)
#EU, for its part, sought to support stable development in the region through peacekeeping missions. Similar to what France did in former West African colonies, including Operation Barhan in Mali, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Niger and Chad (#Sahel ). (5/10)
Due to the strengthening of the Russian "Wagner" group in #Sahel, French troops were forced to finally leave the territory of Mali on August 15 and relocate to Niger. The next country likely to be occupied by the Wagnerites will be #BurkinaFaso. (6/10)
"On the eve of February 24, the African dimension of the Russian invasion was considered in two visions - an increase in the threat of famine or economic opportunities with access to new markets". @lubovabravitova mentioned. (7/10)

"In the end, the truth is somewhere in the middle, because none of the scenarios fully realized itself. Probably because the level of isolation of π·πΊ which the Ukrainians would like to see, is not yet sufficient to have a very strong influence on Africa.(8/10)
At the same time, we saw how, during the blockade of Ukrainian ports by Russian troops, more and more attention was paid to the fact that it was African countries that received our food. Especially the north of Africa". (9/10)
There is no unanimous opinion in Africa regarding the π·πΊπΊπ¦ war. Yes, #Africa did not join the sanctions against Moscow. Thus, due to coups, riots and challenges in health care, African states cannot provide πΊπ¦ aid through official channels, because they themselves need it.(10/10)

πThe first ever #African tour of πΊπ¦ Foreign Minister will take place on October 3-12.
On October 3-12, the first tour of the head of @MFA_Ukraine to African countries in the history of Ukrainian diplomacy will take place. Minister Kuleba will start his tour with a visit to #Senegal. (1/6)
The tour is an important element of the African strategy, which was developed by @MFA_Ukraine on behalf @ZelenskyyUa and became a "road map" for the development of our country's relations with the region. (2/6)
The key topic of the minister's negotiations will be the consolidation of political support for Ukraine from the countries of the #GlobalSouth against the background of #RussianAggression, in particular the latest attempt to annex Ukrainian territories.
