@CasPiancey @BennettTomlin just listened to #ftx podcast. The bit when you discussed the irony re: #coindesk & #digitalcurrencygroup reminded me of one of my favourite (and I believe most under rated in importance) is #coinapult
First a reminder....Bazza Silbert....#DCG was original known as #bitcoin opportunity fund.
Here's a #coindesk article from Oct 2014 covering an investment into #coinapult which included #bitcoinopportunitycorp aka #dcg aka #digitalcurrencygroup
here's #coindesk quoting #coinapult investors as believing the investment was a no brainer.
best of all the same article takes it up a notch covering the awesome new partnership between #coinapult and payment group #payza
#payza might sound familiar. Here's #coindesk interview ing #cryptomuppet #charlieshrem a couple of months earlier shilling the shit out the onestop wonders of #payza
Some of us would better know #payza as the #ponzi #paymentsprocesser run by two dodgy bros out of #canada who were sentenced for #moneylaundering in 2020.
Getting back to #coinapult some of you might remember their #legalcounsel #stuarthoegner
aka Hoegy of #bitfinex #tether
In March 2015 #coinapult was hacked for 150 #bitcoin the incident report notes they were using a #bitfinex account as part of the post hack testing.
Things went sideways for #coinapult after that as two months later in May 2015. they were 'integrated' into #cryptocapital
wtf does 'integrated with' really mean? Well my view is its spin for its busted and was 'absorbed' (acquired) by #cryptocapital. This is exact timeframe that #bitfinex / #tether claim they first started working with #cryptocapital
just to recap. #barrysilbert was investor in #coinapult via #dcg legal counsel was #stuarthoegner #coinapult had a partnership with #ponzi payment processor #payza got hacked and then integrated into #cryptocapital
#cryptocapital became the payment processor for #tether/#bitfinex their lawyer was so incompetent that he failed to ensure the parties had a contract in place and they had $850m stolen from them.
Maybe #coindesk should ask #silbert when did #dcg write off their investment into #coinapult was it before or after the integration with #cryptocapital
was #dcg aware one of their portfolio investments partnered with a group that was convicted of #moneylaundering and integrated into a group that stole $850m and all the officers (and some of their family) are in jail or on the run.
and the common denominator across those events was coinapults legal advisor...

I've been scratching my head thinking why does #curacao sound familiar re: #ifinex #tether #bitfinex finally I remembered Bitfinex Prediction Markets N.V was incorporated in Curacao Image
From the registry filing #Bitfinex Prediction Markets N.V was placed in liquidation August 2021.
So what was Bitfinex Prediction Markets? well its actually meant to be "Betfinex" and was first promoted in the crappy #leo #whitepaper (you know the one where #ifinex had c.$600m unpaid dividends (liabilities) to its shareholders and no way to pay them without the Leo raise).

So today was the first day I started to delve into @summitnational the bank that #nexo announced end of Sep 2022 that it had taken an undisclosed stake in and a 'game changer for the industry'. Image
Does anyone remember that song "pretty fly for a white guy"
well of summit's directors is way more fly than that guy. back in 2011 said director managed to launch his #Porshe 35 feet in the air into the second story of a house. Image

@MikeBurgersburg Mike, Can you check something out for me. I've been sitting on it for days and haven't finished off the analysis but it may overlap with the liquidity you have flagged.
@MikeBurgersburg 18th Nov #tether announced a 1B chain swap from #soluna as always they say there's no change is supply blah blah. I've never really bothered with tracking chain swaps.... but as I had already flagged that they had sent 1B to treasury.....it stuck out like big swinging ram nuts
@MikeBurgersburg If its a chain swap authorised should be reduced by 1B in Soluna with a corresponding increase in authorised where they get sent to. Treasury shouldn't change

So there's quite a bit of speculation around how #Chalopin of #deltec was able to acquire a tiny rural bank. Chalopin jnr interview by @protos described it as an "extremely lucky find" but they didn't find it by driving through the backroads of the rural America
there was no need to wrestle control from local shareholders....or negotiating price over a couple Maryland rum's in jam jars. The bank had long gone offshore
Back in 1994, Farmingtngton Bancorp was acquired by Farmington Finance Corp Tortola, British Virgin Islands. At that time it had a whopping $1.8m in deposits

Don’t forget that #tether invested in #celsiusnetwork
Celsius banked with #deltec and cashed out #ftx for $150m just before the ship went down.
Don't forget #deltec's bestest operator. gamer boy #pepin.

Community banks have long been targets by bad actors.
With limited resources and capabilities bad actors Trojan their way into the bank to launder their cash.
#communityone #ponzi #communitybank #fraud
with crypto the bad actors waltz in the front door under the guise of digital transformation.
So imagine the world of pain a little community bank will find itself in when its not just suspect accounts they may have inadvertently laundered.
But the great white knight of their local bank thats been part of the community for 100 years is the biggest fraud of them all.
