AbdulHakim Shishani (#Chechen) - from fighting with Islamists in #Syria (on the picture he is with an Iranian fighter with very radical Jund Al Aqsa in Aleppo) to giving speeches in Ukraine. What is going on? (Spoiler: none actually knows). Thread 👇
1) AbdulHakim never fought with #ISIS, but he fought in operations with for example Jund Al Aqsa (very radical) &Al Nusra (terrorist group). And what he was doing for #ISIS is helping males escape to Idlib (I know several such folks &his own group members are not even hiding it).
2) He was also involved in kidnapping of a #British citizen in Idlib for ransom and had to even officially apologize for it (see picture). Two people from his group were arrested by HTS and at least one was let out several years later after a big bribe was paid (I talked to him).
3)when war in #Ukraine started he was arrested by #Turkey for killing (they were also into crime in Turkey) but then released in October 2023 &in less then a week appeared in #Ukraine with a group of 10 people. There he immediately started giving public statements and interviews.
4) not clear how he entered #Ukraine. #Poland security knows him very well (his family lives there). Islamist channels also published his brand new #Ukraine passport but official SBU said that he does not have it (face searched database). His interview did not clarify it either.
5) what is he doing in #Ukraine exactly is also not clear. He came in October 2022 and only 4 months later !!! (January 2023) came to the frontline (before that he was in Kyiv). As usually his appearance on the frontline was immediately publicized.
6)this video was published by GUR, but official SBU is saying that “they are aware of the situation and are seriously investigating it”-I guess there is usual internal security service conflict. US &Germany are already not ok with it and from what I know made their opinion known.
7) it is not the first time Islamists are brought in from #Idlib to #Ukraine. In 2015 a much more serious group (45 people) was brought in but kicked out in 3 month-they were useless and uncontrollable (surprise surprise :) That group was under AbdulWaheed theguardian.com/world/2016/jan…
8)At the same time UKR counter terror is doing their job. A Chechen member of Ahmed Chataev secret ISIS group (was supposed to enter #Russia from Ukriane &Georgia to start insurgency) is in prison in #Ukriane. And several years ago Al Bara (important ISIS Chechen) was deported.
9) Outside of social media AbdulHakim in UKR is not important at all (one person, seriously? :) On the other side of cause this is already widely used by #Russia in their propaganda. But with all recent scandals with foreign legion I guess SBU is serious about their job here.

Last several months I spent with SBU counter intelligence unit, including on the frontline catching and arresting collaborators and #Russian solders hiding in forests (after their unit left them). If work of Ukraine military is visible, work of those guys is not.
Job they are doing is not only crucial but very physically& mentally hard. Everyone is burned out. They are working non stop 24/7 since the beginning of the war (a work meeting at 1 am is normal). They have to both work with info in office and go on operations with military.
With a number of insurgency groups/collaborators/spies working behind the frontlines without strong counter intel war would have been lost long time ago. I personally did not expect them to be so many and now knowing that I am not sure how not to get paranoia.
1. I spent last 5 days in #Donbass very frontline on forward operation. 4 days operation was successful &new position was taken (on our side several killed &several wounded). But it was absolutely terrifying not only from combat but from analytical point of view. 1/7
2.#Russia has so many weapon systems & #Ukraine 10% of that at best. For hours we were laying in fox holes not being able to stick heads up being shelled with absolutely Everything including white phosphorous!I was not sure we were going make it back alive &several guys did not 😭
3. We almost did not have artillery cover and it was clear that they are saving ammunition, while #Russia did not care about how much they use. On the bright side only 2/3 of what they fire does explode when it hits the ground. But it is still a lot leading to many casualties.
This story in #Alhol got really bad even by #Alhol#ISIS standards ! Orphans are not found and against-ISIS women went to a Kazakh friend of this pro ISIS Chechen women (apparently there still are Kazakhs left) and took her 3 y.o kid hostage till she tells them where orphans are!
(2) Pro #ISIS women (among them many Europeans in hiding) went to against-ISIS women, beat them with metal bars (one briefly lost consciousness) and took their kid hostage. Later that day both hostage kids were freed but 4 orphans are still not found.
(3) even #ISIS males still fighting in #Syria called camp and asked this Chechen woman to let orphans go but she refused. Main funding groups (that collect money to help pro #ISIS women in camp) also refused to send her money from now on.
(1)Sexscandals and actual related to it serious problems are widespread in #Alhol. In addition to sexual relations foreign females have with local males working in the camp, interviewed #ISIS females often talk about increasing number of lesbian couples (often Europeans)
(2) According to interviewed foreign #ISIS females in #alhol sexual relations between 14-16 year olds take place and some adults were found doing some kind of virginity reconstruction procidure in the camp. Also recently a boy was caught forcing younger boy to have sex with him.
(3) In one very well known (at least among Russian speaking #ISIS females) in #alhol case a woman had sex with her teenage son!!! It was right after Baghuz when there were many people in one tent so there were many witnesses. According to them, this woman was always not ok.
Major riot in a Russia prison (1200 people) in Irkutsk. Prison burned down, inmates are shot with machine guns (300 special forces inside) and those who are inside cut their veins. zekovnet.ru/ik-15-irkutska…
Video of the burning prison camp
Police blocked 5 km radius around prison camp. I talked to those familiar with the situation there and they said that in that prison guards regularly beat and tortured inmates and conflict started after another such incident.
