It's Wednesday, 22 February, and day 364 of the war in Europe.
Here's another daily thread documenting the developments as #Ukraine fights for its very survival as #Russia continues its illegal pursuit of colonialism.
All the news in one handy thread, updated real time, all day
Quite a bit to catch up on yesterday if you didn't stay up...
It loooked like a big counter attack with long range rockets by #Ukraine on targets in the occupied territories.
See what you missed by scrolling through yesterday's thread here: #StopRussia
By the way, no official (or even unofficial) news yet on damage caused to Russia and its troops in the attacks yesterday evening. Even in #Mariupol where 11 missiles were thought to be fired on the southern port.
"It was a mistake" - #Russia's authorities cannot explain why the population in some cities were terrified by air raid warnings cutting across radio stations.
From Belgorod to Kazan, listeners were shocked by the unexpected warning this morning.
This is the moment the missiles were launched from #Belgorod, just inside #Russia.
Four rockets are thought to have hit #Kharkiv. The distance between the two cities is less than 50 miles/80km, and of course to the border from Kharkiv is half that distance.
Let's hope the good people of #Vladivostok (I'm sure there are some), haven't seen or read "Sweeney Todd".
The local council is giving grieving wives of those killed in #Ukraine, fresh sausages!
Don't mention the meat grinder!
Many schools in #Ukraine are closed to pupils today.
Hundreds in #Kyiv and other regions have switched to remote lessons for the rest of the week because of the heightened threat of attacks by #Russia around the anniversary of the full invasion.
US officials say #Russia's latest missile test failed.
They believe the Terrorist State fired a Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile ("Satan 2") around the time Joe Biden was in #Ukraine.
Had it been a success they're convinced Putin would have bragged about it yesterday.
* Graphic photo * #Wagner founder Prigozhin has gone nuts.
He's in danger of arrest for "discrediting the army" with his continued rants against #Russia's military chiefs, claiming they're refusing to give him artillery
He published this photo of Wagner's losses in a single day
Here's today's entry for the popular series #RussiaOnFire
A massive fire is currently out of control in #Krasnoyarsk. It's at a warehouse of the Biryusa refrigerator plant. In 2019 about 50,000 fridges were destroyed in a similar blaze.
Carry on smoking guys!
Thousands of zombies/people heading to today's rally in #Moscow, in favour of the war.
The "celebration" of the anniversary of the start of the full invasion and genocide in #Ukraine, is being held at the Luzhniki stadium. Many attending will be state workers forced to go.
I've mentioned previously about being invited by the @Independent on to an "exclusive expert panel event" to mark the anniversary of #Russia's invasion.
It happens tomorrow evening at 18:30 GMT and
you can register here if you want to watch tomorrow:
It's alleged police cadets in #Moscow were locked in a hall until they agreed to sign up for the war.
TG channel mobilizationnews reports the students resisted the pressure and it's claimed a 19 year old phoned the police. Officers later arrived and released the cadets.
#China's Foreign Ministry has said they will NOT supply weapons to #Russia for the war against #Ukraine.
Photo from occupied #Debaltseve which was shelled by #Ukraine last night. Looks like a pinpoint strike on a building which presumably had been identified as a base for #Russia's soldiers.
Here a two storey building burns in #Stupino, about 100km south of central #Moscow
It's unclear if the warehouse was in use at the time of the fire; some say it was used to store plastic parts, others say it's abandoned.
Thx @CarolynnePries1
At Putin's big war rally in #Moscow it seems many forced attendees just dumped the obligatory flag before they enter.
Plenty of speculation on #Ukraine channels about #Putin, his health, his potential body doubles.
These are pics of the man posing as the Russian President yesterday at his national speech and at today's rally. Same person?
1/2
It's interesting for me to note how so many supposedly independent Telegram channels in #Ukraine are hugely biased.
For instance Trukha reports every press release for Rinat Alhmetov gushingly (as do others) and yet ignore anything from @poroshenko
2/2 Today #Akhmetov's foundation announced that the oligarch and former Party of Regions backer had donated $125m to #Ukraine in the first year of the war. That's good, but nothing new.
This week Poroshenko purchased and donated some great new drones, but it went unreported.
If you're interested, here's a link to the story about Poroshenko's drones.
Erlan Ermekov was recruited from prison in November by #Wagner's mercenaries. His mum Gulnara Zakirova says he died on 6 Feb.
"I lost my only son. Don't let other mothers suffer like this, save other children.”
One year ago the people of #Mariupol were on the streets showing support for #Ukraine.
On the first photo you can see the city's theatre, which within weeks would become the site of a massacre and a tomb at the hands of the Terrorist State.
As the anniversary of the big invasion approaches, Telegram channel Kyiv_polit reports an increase in the number of checkpoints on the outskirts of #Kyiv.
"Putin's chef" and founder of the illegal #Wagner mercenary group has launched another verbal assault on #Russia's Minister of Defence Shoigu and Head of the war effort Gerasimov.
Prigozhin said tonight "This is the usual tyranny of an official who has gone crazy from power.”
Sad news that another Defender of #Mariupol has died. Oleh Mudrak survived Mariupol and 6 months of being a Prisoner of War.
The world was shocked by the change in Oleg when he was released. This week his heart gave out. #Russia is culpable.
By the way quite a few accounts and channels reporting that a Polish LOT airlines plane "accidentally" flew over #Ukraine on its way back from #Dubai.
It didn't. Fake news. I checked it out. It took the normal route and landed safely in Warsaw.
One renowned journalist in #Ukraine reports hits on the airport near #Mariupol'
Andriy Tsaplienko says "two powerful explosions were heard between 10-11pm. They say there were "arrivals" at Russian warehouses at the airport on the western outskirts of the city."
No confirmation
Also this evening, what looks like a targeted strike in #Belgorod, one of the regions in #Russia which borders #Ukraine.
Possibly weapons/ammo store located.

Hello again. Day 1203 of Russia's genocidal war in Ukraine
Anyone with a brain slightly larger than that of a chihuahua knows it. Russian history and Putin's own words spelt it out, but peaceniks, Naziniks and idiotniks are still in denial
More proof coming up in🧵for Day 1203
Yesterday's thread lasted well over 24 hours, but nothing to be proud of.
I know I'm crazier than you, and thankfully you all have lives to live. So you will be needing the link to the start of yesterday's thread so you can catch up on what you missed..
Day 1201 of Europe's war.
But the pre-conflict hybrid war has already been waging worldwide for years. Hacking, election interference, sabotage - we're all targeted by Russia, even if we don't all realise it yet.
Ukraine can stop the war criminal with our help.
Welcome to the🧵
Maybe Sunday will bless Ukraine with a quiet day?
Saturday was another full-on journalistic stint, catching sleep when I could.
Kharkiv shattered overnight then a daytime attack on a kids' railway.
Operation Web 2.0 & a factory hit in Russia.
It's all ⬇️
1/2 Early this morning, just before the end of the previous thread I showed the Azot chemical plant in Tula region on fire.
Not long afterwards, Ukraine hit another facility, this time in Russia-controlled 🇺🇦
This is the Hydromash factory in Melitopol' in occupied Zaporizhzhia.
Day 1194 of Putin's war, though let's remember the initial invasion came 11 years ago.
Since February 2014, not once have western sanctions or military support come close to being enough to restore justice and defeat evil.
Welcome to THE daily 🇺🇦 thread for Sunday 1 June
A new day, a new season. Summer officially started, but nothing is likely to change just yet.
Y'day's thread had some great stories, but everything paled into insignificance when justy before midnight came news of a disaster in Russia's Bryansk region:
Another night of no sleep yet - dramatic action in Moscow.
Time to start another daily thread covering everything to do with Putin's disastrous 'operation' in Ukraine.
It's 5am in Russia and Ukraine, on Day 1190 of the war.
Let's begin...
I've still NEVER missed even one day since the start of Russia's full invasion.
But yesterday's thread ended up being one of the most lively. Another near 50-post story of the day, and if you like seeing "bavovna" in Russia, go right through to the end!
