It's Wednesday, 22 February, and day 364 of the war in Europe.

Here's another daily thread documenting the developments as #Ukraine fights for its very survival as #Russia continues its illegal pursuit of colonialism.

All the news in one handy thread, updated real time, all day
Quite a bit to catch up on yesterday if you didn't stay up...

It loooked like a big counter attack with long range rockets by #Ukraine on targets in the occupied territories.

See what you missed by scrolling through yesterday's thread here:
#StopRussia
By the way, no official (or even unofficial) news yet on damage caused to Russia and its troops in the attacks yesterday evening. Even in #Mariupol where 11 missiles were thought to be fired on the southern port.

#StandWithUkraine
The daily figures have been published by #Kyiv on losses in the last 24 hours for #Russia.

Reasonable numbers from #Ukraine's point of view - nothing outstanding, though the total claimed number of invading soldiers killed edges over 145k

#RussiansGoHome
The #UK's daily Intel update concentrates on the hyprocrisy of #Putin, with a pretty easy and low-key takedown of the warlord.

#StopRussia
Early, and unconfirmed reports, of kamikaze drones launched in #Russia.

Not clear yet whether this is an attack/probing of air defences in #Ukraine or a test.

#StandWithUkraine
"It was a mistake" - #Russia's authorities cannot explain why the population in some cities were terrified by air raid warnings cutting across radio stations.

From Belgorod to Kazan, listeners were shocked by the unexpected warning this morning.

#StopRussia #SaveUkraine
At least two people have been injured after 4 strikes in central #Kharkiv.

Industrial facilities were targeted in the Kyivsky district of the #Ukraine's second city.

No further details released so far.
#RussiaIsATerroristState
This is the moment the missiles were launched from #Belgorod, just inside #Russia.

Four rockets are thought to have hit #Kharkiv. The distance between the two cities is less than 50 miles/80km, and of course to the border from Kharkiv is half that distance.

#StopRussia
Sleepy Dima thought he better make amends after being snapped dozing off again during the Tsar's speech yesterday.

Today Medvedev is cranking up the rhetoric, saying "#Russia will be torn apart if it stops the war in #Ukraine without winning."
In #Kherson, volunteers clean up at a kindergarten, which presumably #Russia tried to "de nazify"?

All the windows were blown out by shelling.

#RussiansGoHome #SaveUkraine
Let's hope the good people of #Vladivostok (I'm sure there are some), haven't seen or read "Sweeney Todd".

The local council is giving grieving wives of those killed in #Ukraine, fresh sausages!
Don't mention the meat grinder!
Many schools in #Ukraine are closed to pupils today.

Hundreds in #Kyiv and other regions have switched to remote lessons for the rest of the week because of the heightened threat of attacks by #Russia around the anniversary of the full invasion.

#StandWithUkraine
US officials say #Russia's latest missile test failed.

They believe the Terrorist State fired a Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile ("Satan 2") around the time Joe Biden was in #Ukraine.

Had it been a success they're convinced Putin would have bragged about it yesterday.
* Graphic photo *
#Wagner founder Prigozhin has gone nuts.

He's in danger of arrest for "discrediting the army" with his continued rants against #Russia's military chiefs, claiming they're refusing to give him artillery

He published this photo of Wagner's losses in a single day
Here's today's entry for the popular series #RussiaOnFire

A massive fire is currently out of control in #Krasnoyarsk. It's at a warehouse of the Biryusa refrigerator plant. In 2019 about 50,000 fridges were destroyed in a similar blaze.

Carry on smoking guys!
Thousands of zombies/people heading to today's rally in #Moscow, in favour of the war.

The "celebration" of the anniversary of the start of the full invasion and genocide in #Ukraine, is being held at the Luzhniki stadium. Many attending will be state workers forced to go.
I've mentioned previously about being invited by the @Independent on to an "exclusive expert panel event" to mark the anniversary of #Russia's invasion.

It happens tomorrow evening at 18:30 GMT and
you can register here if you want to watch tomorrow:

independent.co.uk/news/world/eur…
It's alleged police cadets in #Moscow were locked in a hall until they agreed to sign up for the war.

TG channel mobilizationnews reports the students resisted the pressure and it's claimed a 19 year old phoned the police. Officers later arrived and released the cadets.
#China's Foreign Ministry has said they will NOT supply weapons to #Russia for the war against #Ukraine.
Photo from occupied #Debaltseve which was shelled by #Ukraine last night. Looks like a pinpoint strike on a building which presumably had been identified as a base for #Russia's soldiers.

#DonetskIsUkraine
Another nice entry to #RussiaOnFire

Here a two storey building burns in #Stupino, about 100km south of central #Moscow

It's unclear if the warehouse was in use at the time of the fire; some say it was used to store plastic parts, others say it's abandoned.
Thx @CarolynnePries1
At Putin's big war rally in #Moscow it seems many forced attendees just dumped the obligatory flag before they enter.
Plenty of speculation on #Ukraine channels about #Putin, his health, his potential body doubles.

These are pics of the man posing as the Russian President yesterday at his national speech and at today's rally. Same person?
#Belarus is not happy with #Ukraine's border guards.

The friendly greetings seem to be misinterpreted by the country which allows #Putin's thugs to launch terrorist strikes on civilians in Ukraine.

#BelarusIsATerroristState

It's interesting for me to note how so many supposedly independent Telegram channels in #Ukraine are hugely biased.
For instance Trukha reports every press release for Rinat Alhmetov gushingly (as do others) and yet ignore anything from @poroshenko

#StandWithUkraine
2/2
Today #Akhmetov's foundation announced that the oligarch and former Party of Regions backer had donated $125m to #Ukraine in the first year of the war. That's good, but nothing new.

This week Poroshenko purchased and donated some great new drones, but it went unreported.
If you're interested, here's a link to the story about Poroshenko's drones.

The #UK will unblock the "fighter jet coalition"

That'e the verdict of @AndriyYermak. Speaking to reporters today he said that many countries were willing to donate planes, but won't be the first.

Following his recent visit to Britain with Zelenskyy, Yermak hopes UK will be 1st
"Neutral" #Switzerland is the latest country to boycott next month's Women's World Boxing Championships.

Now 10 countries are refusing to go to #India because the governing body welcomed #Russia and #Belarus fighters and even allowed their flags.
A citizen of #Kyrgyzstan has been killed while fighting for #Russia

Erlan Ermekov was recruited from prison in November by #Wagner's mercenaries. His mum Gulnara Zakirova says he died on 6 Feb.

"I lost my only son. Don't let other mothers suffer like this, save other children.”
One year ago the people of #Mariupol were on the streets showing support for #Ukraine.

On the first photo you can see the city's theatre, which within weeks would become the site of a massacre and a tomb at the hands of the Terrorist State.

#RussiaIsATerroristState #SaveUkraine
Something I pointed out through personal experience very soon after Musk made it possible to buy blue ticks, has been reported on by the WP.

Knowingly or not, Elon Musk's version of freedom is directly aiding #Russia's disinfo campaign.

washingtonpost.com/technology/202…
As the anniversary of the big invasion approaches, Telegram channel Kyiv_polit reports an increase in the number of checkpoints on the outskirts of #Kyiv.

#SaveUkraine #StopRussia
"Putin's chef" and founder of the illegal #Wagner mercenary group has launched another verbal assault on #Russia's Minister of Defence Shoigu and Head of the war effort Gerasimov.

Prigozhin said tonight "This is the usual tyranny of an official who has gone crazy from power.”
#RussiaOnFire

This one in #Krasnodar, near the Sennoy market.
However fire officials say it was in a private house and this evening's blaze has now been put out.

Spotted by @CarolynnePries1 again!
There are many awful effects of war.

Sad news that another Defender of #Mariupol has died. Oleh Mudrak survived Mariupol and 6 months of being a Prisoner of War.

The world was shocked by the change in Oleg when he was released. This week his heart gave out.
#Russia is culpable.
By the way quite a few accounts and channels reporting that a Polish LOT airlines plane "accidentally" flew over #Ukraine on its way back from #Dubai.

It didn't. Fake news. I checked it out. It took the normal route and landed safely in Warsaw.
One renowned journalist in #Ukraine reports hits on the airport near #Mariupol'

Andriy Tsaplienko says "two powerful explosions were heard between 10-11pm. They say there were "arrivals" at Russian warehouses at the airport on the western outskirts of the city."

No confirmation
Also this evening, what looks like a targeted strike in #Belgorod, one of the regions in #Russia which borders #Ukraine.

Possibly weapons/ammo store located.

Wednesday. Day 1302 of the illegal war started by Russia.

For all the fact-checked news about Ukraine, analysis not sugar-coated, and honest appraisals of the situation, trust an expert who isn't here for clicks (if I was I'd post lies & gory videos).

Thanks for being #TeamTim
Yesterday an astonishing report from Yale showing Russia forcing kidnapped kids to work in drone factories, how Croatia may have embarrassed the Putin/ Hungary/Slovakia axis.

Those and many more stories in Tuesday's thread, click here to review:

2-3 weeks ago, Russia started copying Ukraine's attacks on railway infrastructure and is having success.

At night, Ukrzaliznytsia substations were hit, causing power losses firing the rail network.

Over 20 passenger trains were on affected routes, but there are no casualties. Image

Day 1301 of Ukraine fighting for its survival. The right to be free, speak their own language, worship in their own churches, to learn their own history.

A history of long suppression by Russia.
As war crimes grow daily, the words "never again" don't seem to apply.
Here's the🧵
Yesterday began, and ended, with Russia attacking Zaporizhzhia, injuring civilians.

Also, the head of the IAEA disgraced himself in Russia's arms, changes of 🇺🇦army leadership, and how a Russian guy was a Putin opponent, until 3 mins after being elected.

First though a breaking news after a number of morning attacks by Russia, particularly in Kyiv region.

This is in the town of Fastiv where a logistics centre for the electronic retail company EpiCentre (EpiTsentr).

Residents are warned of potential air pollution. Image

Day 1300 of Putin's war.
Another 100 days of fighting completed.
We are no nearer peace than we were 100 days ago.

Almost 200 days ago Trump demanded a 30-day unconditional ceasefire.
Not surprising as he started it, it's always Putin stopping peace.

Here's Monday's daily🧵
If you were busy over the weekend, click the link to see all Sunday's stories.

It was a day when Ukraine had to quickly repair a main railway line after a massive explosion, but they also managed to make multiple hits on Russia's rail and oil industries

The overnight bombardment from Russia remained lower than usual, although 84 drones and 3 S-300 missiles caused a fair bit of damage on 'soft' targets

With 59 UAVs stopped, that's a 70% success rate.
None of the missiles was intercepted either

The 28 hits occurred in 13 places Image

Day 1299 - the daily thread starts here, covering all things to do with the illegal invasion of Ukraine by its demonic neighbour.

Plenty to catch up on due to the late start today.
So no time to waste, let's go...
Apologies for the much later start than intended, due to a few technical issues, as well as Dad's Taxi being booked for a rescue mission😂

Before we look at today's events, here's the link back to Saturday's thread:

At the end of yday's thread, I wrote about what was a probable Russian strike on Kyiv's railway.

Ukraine's Gen Staff doesn't say it was an attack but admits a "detonation of ammunition on a train carrying military cargo"

Accidents happen, but either way it's a clear blow.

Hello on Day 1298 of Russia's full invasion of its sovereign neighbour. So, only 1295 days late in fulfilling the boast of taking Kyiv in 3 days. #EATP for Putin.

I've compiled a🧵every single day without fail.
You can help my work with a boost, comment, re-post or a coffee🙏
Friday saw more important visitors arrive in Kyiv (and another familiar place is in Ukraine today).

There was more solidarity and practical support, while Russia suffered more oil woes.

If you missed anything, click and scroll here:

I'll start in Odesa, because that's where the familiar face has turned up.

He was planning to return to Ukraine a couple of weeks ago, but couldn't make it, but now Boris is back.
Loved by nearly all Ukrainians, his early arrival (with Lord Ashcroft) meant he avoids the crowds. Image

Hello once again on Friday 12 September 2025.

Day 1297 of Russia's imperialist war, but the senior bully keeps being given a bloody nose by the junior school kid next door. How embarrassing for the "world's second greatest army" and more 'punches' thrown by Ukraine overnight..
There was so much in yesterday's thread.

Russia hitting churches, Ukraine striking a boat.
The US helping Belarus, which helps🇷🇺 & Trump questioning if the drone attack on Poland was a mistake.
Thursday ended with a Ukraine drone surge into Russia:
It was busy at Kyiv's main railway station this morning with two VIP arrivals making unannounced visits.

Prince Harry accepted a request to return to Ukraine saying "we have to keep (the war) at the forefront of people's minds."

Poland's FM @sikorskiradek hopped off soon after Image
