#Russia's daily losses (estimated by #Ukraine) get lower and lower.
A total of just 21 pieces of any equipment whatsoever destroyed in the last 24 hours.
560 more soldiers won't be returning to their families.
Dead of alive - your choice - #RussiansGoHome
British Intel is interesting today.
Maybe #Ukraine should be dropping alcohol from drones over enemy lines? The secret weapon to let the highly disciplined #Russia army defeat itself🤡
More destruction evident in #Avdiivka. #Ukraine's President's Office publishes photos of the town's administration (council) building after it was hit.
With everyone in shelters there were no casualties.
By the way I've been told some families return to Avdiivka AFTER evacuation
#Russia has murdered 262 athletes from #Ukraine and destroyed 363 sports facilities in the country.
That was the message given to the President of the International Gymnastics Federation, Morinari Watanabe who's visiting #Kyiv.
A mobilised soldier from #Samara has taken "around 10 hostages" in #Bryansk.
Independent media Baza reports the 35 year old man later surrendered and released the other soldiers after negotiations.
He was angry to learn his nephews were killed in #Ukraine for Putin's war.
A year ago today, the last of #Russia's troops left #Kyiv region.
Later followed #Chernihiv, #Sumy, #Kharkiv, #Mykolaiv and half of #Kherson regions. Hopefully more to come with illegal aggression going unrewarded and indeed punished.
Explosions in #Melitopol.
It's reported rockets have hit near the railway station in the key occupied city in #Zaporizhzhia oblast.
Interesting exhibition in #NewYork this weekend.
Seems the artist make a Red Star of #Russia's Army and filled it with the boots of dead Russian soldiers, sacrificed for the Tsar Putin.
Depite being ordered to leave, priests of the #Moscow-aligned church in #Ukraine held another service in #Kyiv-Lavra today.
But UOP-MP leader is absent - Metropolitan Pavel is tagged and under house arrest after yesterday's court case.
Everything is calm at the church complex.
A new artwork was unveiled by 🇺🇸Ambassador Bridget Brink in a rainy #Borodianka near #Kyiv this morning.
"A Girl Under The Sun" is a sculpture by Yevgeniy Pryimachenko. It's based on a photo of 11yo Alina on a swing, which went viral amid the devastation wreaked by #Russia.
I cannot verify these are recent hits, but the #Volnova Council publishes shots of wrecked tanks after "the work of the 74th separate reconnaissance battalion in the Volnovasky district."
But also in #Vuhledar there are heavy losses for #Ukraine too - but all indicators are much, much lower than #Russia's losses on the offensive.
Hundreds of thousands dead and hundreds more thousands disabled.
And worse for #Russia, expecting a huge rise in those in need, authorities admits "great concern" over the quality of rehabilitation products. The average age of the disabled is just 27.
But the Occupier also says cluster munitions were used. Furthermore this morning they admitted strikes were on rail depots, but now say "there are no military targets anywhere near."
This is the victim of the bomb blast in St.Petersburg - Vladlen Tatarsky was a popular pro-#Russia war blogger.
And this is believed to be the moment which caused his death. It's said that the "present" contained explosives.
4/ The number of injured has risen to 16, in addition to Tatarsky's death.
The prosecutor of St. Petersburg, Viktor Melnik, has already arrived at the site of the deadly explosion - Street Food Bar No. 1 cafe on Universitetskaya embankment. This video was taken 5 minutes ago
A swift response today to the scandal in #Khmelnytskyi where a soldier was beaten by Moscow-aligned priests and acolytes.
They've now been expelled from the church and a hasty vote ensured it and all the property will be handed over to the State commission.
Cameras filmed events
1/ Somewhat predictably #Russia's already managed to find a Ukrainian to blame for the killing of Vladlen Tatarsky, the convicted thief turned soldier turned blogger.
Maria Yarun from Ivano Frankivsk has been detained; she supposedly handed over the statue full of explosives.
2/ First who would benefit from the assassination? #Russia says #Ukraine. But really?
What is to gain for Ukraine to kill one quite-well known person in Russia's second city?
I think nothing.
3/ So who else gains?
Tatarsky will certainly have made enemies along the way, both in his military career and likely other jealous bloggers.
But only police would be able to access messages, emails, documents and speaks to friends to assess any potential threats.
4/ Could Putin's Government gain from the killing?
Well funny you should ask that..
Tatarsky gained some notoriety by instantly declaring #Russia would kill, rape and plunder as needed to defeat #Ukraine.
Come the war crimes later, this did not look good and likely angered some
5/ Furthermore Tatarsky nailed his allegiance, grovellingly so, to Prigozhin and the Wagner group.
He was, I believe, a mouthpiece for "Putin's Chef", the wannabe President.
Prigozhin likely told him what to write on occasions as he criticised #Russia's army and MoD.
6/ The Kremlin will also benefit now in another way. They just launched a desperate military recruitment drive, which seemed lifeless. Doubtless now they can stoke the "hate #Ukraine" rhetoric and get more gullible cattle fodder to sign-up.
Think that's far fetched?...
7/ Please remember the Kremlin used a FAKE crucifixion to stoke hatred of Ukraine when it needed volunteers in 2014, just as #Russia looked likely to lose the Donbas war there and then.
And then let's remember how Putin came to power in 1999.
As acting President he was outsider
8/ ..to win the coming election, until an extraordinary event. Terrorist bombings of #Russia.
Immediately Chechens were blamed and Putin started another Chechen war, sending his popularity soaring as the man to protect Russians.
Very few Russians over 40 have ever lost this view.
9/ Except, one of the "terrorist bombs" didn't go off.
The apartment bombings killed 300, injuring >1000.
But not in #Ryazan. Here there's enough evidence to suggest the whole plot was organised by the Kremlin itself. Watch this documentary on the story
Tatarsky UPD
Media reports in #Russia about a Ukrainian woman being detained are incorrect. Or at least another young woman is now in the frame.
Investigators now name 25 year old anti-war protester Dariya Trepova, from St Petersburg, as a suspect; she's here on security footage
Prigozhin claims his Wagner troops have captured #Bakhmut
In this bizarre video he says he's by the main council building in the centre + will raise the Russian flag which belonged to Tatarsky.
Prigozhin says the town is "legally ours" then admits #Ukraine army is in the west.

Welcome to Monday's daily thread documenting #Ukraine's defence against #Russia's full invasion.
It's Day 404 of the war.
What a crazy day Sunday was with a high profile assassination, church shenanigans, and then #Wagner "taking" #Bakhmut.
Review it here
2/2 Fighting in #Bakhmut has been ongoing in the centre of the town for a while, so it's likely #Russia made some more ground and #Ukraine was at least temporarily pushed back.
But there's still fighting; ZSU is heavily active in the west of the town and has control of one road.
Day 402 of the war. #Russia's illegal full invasion of #Ukraine.
This is the start of the daily news thread for Saturday 1 April, with all the relevant news updated as quickly and often as I can around the clock.
Thanks everyone for your support.
Together we #StandWithUkraine
I am currently sat in Mother Theresa airport (did you know there was such an airport name?) - I'll give the city/country in the next tweet, a little quiz to start your weekend!
Friday turned out to be quite busy for #Ukraine news, here's the link:
So, the answer to the conundrum? The airport named after Mother Theresa is in Tirana, capital of #Albania. A taxi ride over the border from Montenegro & now two flights to get home.
Thank you @CLies13 who's just bought me multiple coffees to keep me going at airport lounges💙💛
Hello and welcome to the daily thread for Friday, with all the news on #Ukraine's defence of its homeland and indeed existence, against #Russia's aggression.
It's Day 401, with all the news you need!
Missed something on Thursday? Click and scroll here:
I'll start with #Russia's losses on the battlefield (as estimated by #Ukraine)
Numbers still well done on peaks. A number of factors: awful weather, and highly likely the invaders are short on cattle/soldiers and ammo meaning fewer attacks across the frontline.
Welcome to Daily Thread number 399 with all the important news of #Russia's illegal war in #Ukraine.
However don't forget that it's over 3,300 days since the first invasion of sovereign Ukrainian territory by Putin. Had the West acted decisively then this wouldn't have happened.
... and leading on from that, if we fail to act decisively now or "seek peace" on the wrong terms, we will face another war and a larger crisis a few further years down the line.
Better late than never. We must support #Ukraine until Russia stops all aggression.
Plenty of news yesterday, including #France recognising #Holodomor as genocide, the IOC President desperately trying to stay friends with Uti-Puti and an armed assault on a police station in a southern republic in #Russia.
