And so begins the daily thread for Day 423.
This is the only 🧵you need for all the news about #Ukraine and its defence against #Russia's illegal invasion.
In its' daily update, #Ukraine's General Staff says #Russia refused to allow its own injured soldiers across the border for treatment.
Details are specific: 14 trucks "full of wounded" moving from occupied #Luhansk to #Belgorod. But the convoy was turned back, many later died.
While #Germany recently 'celebrated' closing nuclear power plants, #Ukraine has just signed a deal for the construction of up to 20 new such plants.
State owned "Energoatom" and US company Holtec International agreed power units with SMR-160 reactors across Ukraine. #SaveUkraine
Last night there were some reports of explosions in #Zaporizhzhia region. #Ukraine says 4 drones were shot down, and there are no reports of damage.
However they did report an attack by 5 UAVs, with no word on the last one.
If you like what I do here, threads, insights, analysis and all the news in one place, every single day, you can buy me a coffee, just as "C" has done the last couple of days.
Thank you so much 💙💛
It seems to have been a little north of the centre, but was on the railway. A diesel locomotive said to be carrying mainly Chechen fighters was blown up near the depot.
You know there's something wrong with your behaviour when the Terrorist State calls you brother.
All labels of "state funded media" have also been removed by Twitter to help Iran, China, Russia amplify their propaganda and they all now show up in searches.
Fellas we need action!
The EU is trying to introduce a ban on the transit of goods through Russia in its 11th sanctions package.
Bloomberg reports countries bordering 🇷🇺 saw a big increase in exports to 3rd countries with transit through Russia. Some goods are kept in Russia or get sent back to Russia
A civilian was wounded earlier when #Russia shelled a park near the river in #Kherson.
The 46-year-old man suffered injuries to his head and lower leg and is being treated in hospital.
#Ukraine have just claimed they've shot down an enemy helicpoter.
The Mi-24 was hit today, but they don't say where (presumably Donetsk region) or what happened to the crew.
In addition 4 of #Russia's drones were shot down (2 reconnaisance and 2 "Lancet" kamikaze drones)
Lots of suggestions for stories today. My thanks again for links and tips from @MuffinmanMc@NeneOriginal Ali and "Mr C"
One spotted that a Russian visitor to #Finland claimed residents doused his car with blood.
Incidentally the Russian is from Karelia which used to be Finnish.
A train allegedly carrying grain caught fire in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky in #Rostov region.
It's perfectly possible the grain is stolen from #Ukraine.
Air defence? That's what officials say the explosions heard in #Belgorod are due to.
#Russia was launching rockets into #Ukraine when this happened. Can't help but hope they dropped another bomb or one of the rockets took a course of denazification.
In #Kharkiv around 4 or 5 of #Russia's rockets were said to have landed in the region.
In the village of #Kotlyarivka (140km east of Kharkiv) no wounded or dead following the attack by #Russia but a big fire as a private garage, cars and houses were damaged.
The level of #Russia's losses in the last 24 hours remains in line with recent days. Another 690 killed in #Ukraine and we remain on course for 200,000 in mid-May.
British Intel today comments on the figures. They are slightly behind the 8-ball because as readers here will know, the trend is slightly up again. But yes, down from the insane numbers when #Russia was launching non stop attacks with cannon fodder.
I'll start in #Russia where a drone "stuffed with explosives" has been found near #Noginsk in Moscow region.
The 3-metre UAV weighing 85kgs "fell from the sky".
Media are saying it's one of #Ukraine's UJ-22 drones, with Canadian M112 explosive charges (unverified)
Yesterday we saw #Russia's brotherly love for Eton Musk. Russian advances in #Bakhmut. Explosions in occupied #Melitopol as well as usual attacks on the liberated part of #Kherson and #Kharkiv.

670 more soldiers losing their lives needlessly and at some point today the 185,000th troop will be killed in #Ukraine fighting a non-existent cause for a regime in Moscow as sick as Hitler's Nazis.
Fuel tanks destroyed high again.
Overnight #Russia launched another drone attack, this time in the #Dnipropetrovsk region.
All six attack UAVs were shot down.
So far at least relatively few reports of attacks on population centres today. #SaveUkraine
