During his time at Microsoft, Toutonghi worked on a range of projects, including kernel lead for Windows 95 and Chief Architect for .Net. He also headed up the eHome division, which focused on consumer entertainment on the PC. 17/x

After leaving Microsoft, Toutonghi started a social network called WebFives, which was later acquired by Microsoft. He then served as the CTO of Parallels Inc. before founding Verus, where he focused on machine learning and AI. 18/x

Toutonghi developed a smart folder email system that can read an email in under 200 ms and could "learn all kinds of things about emails it reads." This led him to the idea of polling on the chain and a privacy-preserving system that allows people to express their opinions. 19/x
