Stop blaming mental illness. Here's why.
First there are differing definitions/views.
Let's stick with clinical & popular views.
Definitions of mental illness
Ø Some are legal
Ø Some are clinical
Ø Some are popular
When most people think of mental illness they think
of people who are out of touch w/reality & behaving bizarrly

That may include hallucinations, extreme paranoia,
lack of control of feelings & behavior, or dangerous
delusions all due to mental illness.
These states can occur because of substance abuse or some medical conditions -- including Parkinson's, dementia, brain tumors...
