BREAKING: Forgery is a crime—as is fraud—which means Beverly Nelson can SUE the LIVING DAYLIGHTS out of Fox News for FALSELY claiming she "forged" evidence in a civil case. In fact, Nelson did no more than add a date and place beneath "Judge" Roy Moore's creepy yearbook comments.
2/ This is a DELIBERATE attempt by Fox News to swing the election to the GOP candidate by committing ACTIONABLE LIBEL against a sexual assault victim. This isn't gutter journalism—it's fraud. And it's exactly what Team Trump did to Clinton in the 96 hours before the '16 election.
3/ UPDATE: Fox News, almost certainly fearing legal action, has changed its headline from "forged" to "wrote." But how many times was that article shared before the fix? That's the question.
4/ Should Nelson have said from the outset that she added a date and place to the 100% authentic inscription serial child molester "Judge" Roy Moore put in her high school yearbook? Absolutely. Does it change ANYTHING about the underlying facts behind her allegations? NOT AT ALL.
5/ I'm incensed because ERIK PRINCE waited until 96 hours before the '16 election to go on Breitbart—the same outlet propagating this BS "forgery" claim—to make false claims on Clinton "crimes." Now Breitbart is AGAIN running false pre-election claims about a woman and a "crime."
6/ This is a pattern of behavior in right-wing media and it's primarily directed against women—and usually used to distract from crimes committed by Republican men. Mainstream media needs to call this exactly what it is and NOT enable another Fox News/Breitbart pre-election plot.
7/ Here's a guide for media in dealing with this scam. Ask two questions:

1) Does this alter the facts of Nelson's accusations at all?
2) Does this change the fact that Moore wrote in Nelson's yearbook—thus proving he knew her, creeped on her, and is lying about not knowing her?
8/ If the answer to both questions is "no," this should be reported on—as it's far more newsworthy as—a pre-election plot by Breitbart that mirrors what it did with Erik Prince before another election involving a serial sexual predator: Donald Trump. It suggests a modus operandi.
9/ The date/place in Nelson's photo was *obviously* in a different handwriting; there was no intent to deceive or expectation of deception. What Breitbart did was see what the rest of us saw—then *wait* until the moment of maximum political impact to make a bogus "forgery" claim.
10/ If the right wing doesn't get called out for doing this—and if they win another election using false claims right before the election—they will keep doing it and keep winning elections unfairly by doing it. Mainstream media must decide NOW whether they will push back on this.
