/Welcome to the last day of 2017 in the independent republic of Brexitlandia
/ In the autumn the Foreign Office learned it would face budget cuts of 40%. This would seem odd at a time that we are embarking on global Britain and will need more diplomatic resource as we seek to strike trade deals around the globe 😳
/ And then we learn that rather than increase representation globally we are cutting back to bolster representation within the EU 🙈thetimes.co.uk/article/asian-…
/ It almost seems as if the fact that around 50% of U.K. exports going to the EU27 matters and is important to maintain and very hard to easily replace 🙄
/ Some observers may wonder whether the Maybot's unilateral redlines (that will fade away in 2018) really are at all sensible if the impact on the Foreign Office is to focus on the EU. It is almost as if the UK is running to standstill but I am no expert 🤓
/ Some project fearists will be mocked as the UK economy seems to be holding up according to ultra Brexiters but the passing observer may ask the following questions:
/ What would have happened to the economy if the Bank of England had not cut interest rates, embarked on 60bn of QE and made another 100bn available to banks in August 2016? google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theg…
/ Why was £140m spent on a needless election?
/ Why was 1.5bn paid to the DUP?🤥
/ Why is UK wage growth in 2018 forecast by the OECD to be so poor? 😳
/ Why did the pound decline in value and who said that was a good reason for leaving the EU? 🙄
/ Why did the GOV adopt the OBR figures estimating a 60bn drop in tax revenues over the next 5 years? 😢
/ What is the true cost of leaving the EU? A clue is in the Treasuary modelling of April 2016 and I would say it is more than the 35-39bn being paid as part of the withdrawal arranagements?💷💷💷💷💷
/ With falling wage growth and rising inflation, is it good that the savings ratio is also falling? independent.co.uk/news/business/…
/ Why is the UK economy not growing as quickly as other major economies and what does that mean as a cost to the U.K.? ft.com/content/e3b292…
/ Why did the UK go from the fastest growing G7 economy to the slowest google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.ft.c…
/ Why has the Government not spent more money on the NHS as a result of Brexit?
/ Why in fact is the NHS cancelling operations? google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theg…
/ Why is the NHS paying Virgin so much? google.co.uk/amp/www.telegr…
/ Why is Chris Grayling bailing out rail companies?
/ Why does so much public money seem to be paid out to private companies when public funds are likely to face a massive reduction?
/ Will the Government replace this funding?
/ Some may regard this as project fearism. Others may wonder whether things are getting worse for the UK and what will happen if public funds are reduced.
/ Some may wonder how the Government intends to offset all this project fearism? Tweet 25 summarises their plan for the economy
/
/ Some may wonder whether staying in the SM and a CU would be a sensible measure.
/ Some may wonder who really benefits from not being sensible with the UK's future economy. But those folks are unpatriotic traitors who just don't believe. After all who knew 🦄 can perform life saving operations at no cost
/ The patient reader who is still reading this thread may fairly ask if it costs on average 37p each a day to be part of the EU, what does 37p buy you that you don't already have?
/ And if you don't have it, do you think you will get it with the current approach to Brexit?
