I accept that Trump was willing to use Wolff this way, given the communications team for the White House actively encouraged senior staff to talk to Wolff as per Chris Matthews
My hypothesis was Trump was using the chaos coverage, and by extension this book, to mask the actual intricacies of his administration so no one would know which cup to look under for the juicy scoop cup game so to speak
Bannon would have been a part of this at least unwittingly, but your assertions are that Bannon played the part of a doomed spy to help generate controversy and to sell the 'resist brand authenticity' of the book to the legacy media
Thus Bannons sacrifice play and the book serve 3 purposes: feign chaos, provide distraction for the rollout of investigations into Clinton email and foundation, and because the book has same narrative that the media has been pushing they're just as discredited by inaccuracies
What Wolff gets out of the book is a shit ton of money in sales and probably a lucrative advance from Simon and Schuster or some other liberal publisher, AND to be the poison pill of the legacy media. Bannon was again the loyal soldier playing the doomed spy to sell it to the MSM
