You know what actually took real guts, @JoeNBC? High school students who just endured a massacre and are still nursing physical and emotional wounds becoming activists/advocates overnight and demanding to be heard/helped by their elected officials.
It shouldn’t require “guts” for any elected official to face their constituents, if the work they’re doing in DC is so atrocious that they’re too ashamed to publicly defend it they need to lose their fucking jobs.
Teenagers are out here crafting sensible, feasible gun control policy and the “adults” who allegedly represent them need a double dose of courage just to meet them face to face. They can’t even pretend to be useful b/c their greed won’t allow it.

What @JoeNBC really meant to say is that today’s GOP is so money and power hungry that it would actually take “guts” for them to work with parents & children who’ve been personally impacted by a school massacre to ensure that mass shootings never happen again in America.
What @JoeNBC really meant to say is that passing ANY form of legislation that reduces the availability of guns thereby reducing gun industry profits & GOP campaign donations requires guts b/c it means political suicide for a party that thrives on fantasies of armed insurrection.
Republicans are so indebted to the NRA that they have NO freedom to make common sense changes to our gun laws that have been scientifically proven to prevent/reduce gun violence. Saving lives isn’t lucrative for them personally so they willfully choose not to do it. WILLFULLY.
People need to understand that America is awash with lethal weapons and subject to endless mass shootings because the Republican Party is being paid handsomely to keep it that way. They can’t be trusted to have guts or solutions to solve any of our problems.
The same Republicans folk are begging to have a heart wouldn’t even be in office today if not for the aid and comfort of NRA contributions and the votes of gun fanatics. Expecting them to vote for sensible gun reform right now is like asking a prostitute to leave her pimp.
If they had any courage, conviction or guts we wouldn’t even be experiencing this gun violence epidemic in the first place. The GOP proudly built this disaster, and they have decades worth of campaign contributions from the NRA to prove it. Vote them the fuck out already.
