Some 'selfish' reasons to do reproducible science by @markowetzlab #Reproducibility2018 1. Reproducibility helps to avoid disaster (You have backups. You can check your work. You don't rely on miracles.)
2. Reproducibility helps writing papers and writing papers is what science is all about (scripts and markdown files allows for flexibility, efficiency and transparency in writing papers).
3. Reproducibility helps you get the reviewers on your side (reviewers become more engaged as its not about trust in your results, its about making the best out of your paper).
4. Reproducibility enables continuity (over time, over research groups, over researchers. Remember: The first re-user of your data will be your future self and your past-self does not answer emails!).
5. Reproducibility helps you with your reputation (writing open source software helps, getting into good journals helps, doing 'cool' work helps, being ahead of others helps and reproducibility helps with all of these).
