In other conflict zones with which I worked, the basic idea was always to establish safe zones to which refugees or IDPs could flee.

Ideally, once in safe zones, my teams would have set up camps and begun providing services (food, water, health, social).

Nigeria 🇳🇬 is a very large, diverse, and ultimately fragile country facing a host of internal & external challenges.

Asking the large numbers of Hausa people in the armies of both 🇳🇬 & 🇳🇪 to fight each other (based on a 🇳🇬 invasion) could trigger a 🇳🇬 army revolt.

I’m sorry, but the more I look into this #WagnerCoup mess, the more I smell a rat. A lot of things about this alleged “coup” simply don’t add up.

I’m beginning to think this is somewhere between geopolitical performance art and foreign policy head fake.
