Boris Johnson et al are responsible for having wasted the last three years on the massive folly of brexit. Would a child be on the floor if the country’s energy and money had been put into solving problems instead? /start
#GeneralElection19

bbc.co.uk/news/election-… They told you they would have more money for the NHS. They lied then, they are lying now. We will continue haemorrhaging money on stupid brexit unicorns, negotiating them, duplicating what we already have, chasing a fantasy and losing our standing in the world! #stopbrexit

I have always maintained that it will be a slow decline in our industry base which will cause the real longer term problems. You cannot remove competitiveness from big employers and not expect a reaction then this leads to knock on effects in SMEs too. /thread
#SundayThoughts The way business makes decisions going forward will be affected by our country status and costs and friction in supply lines and the path of least resistance to get to their market. #stopbrexit

In 4 years we have had 3 prime ministers and 2 elections. If Johnson gets his way we would have 4 prime ministers and 3 elections. There have been 4 votes on some kind of #Brexit deal - all FAILED to pass /THREAD. Yet politicians consistently refuse us a #PeoplesVote comparing the type of Brexit they want to impose against the deal we have - EU membership. Image

On the 19th October 2019 we travelled from Cheshire on trains coaches and automobiles for a #PeopleVoteMarch to demand a chance to have a say on this #brexitshambles which threatens our jobs, our families, our rights and freedoms /thread

#SundayThoughts We had a little song song on the way to pass the time on the road #singingtoremain

Whilst these things are rarely simple, a profits warning in May clearly cites #Brexit and the problems that made in environment as a big factor. Very sad day for the owners, employees here and overseas, the hotels and supply chains.#ThomasCookcollapse

ft.com/content/dd402b… Here in #Cheshire we need to realise that a move or shut down of some of our substantial local automotive industry thanks to bad #brexit trading conditions will leave thousands of our friends and neighbours in similar disarray. #StopBrexit #ThomasCook

Some of our members turned to the demo organised by People’s Assembly tonight in order to support our local MP @ChrisM4Chester. Apparently it was a success overall. However I am told one of the other speakers made some incorrect statements about us, Chester for Europe /thread 1. We are not affiliated to any political party. We have members and key organisers who are members or supporters of Labour, Lib Dems, Green Party and yes even Conservatives. There is a big number of us who are not members of any party and have no intention of being.

Well another day another piece of propaganda. Note the use of language here in preparation for a wholly UNDEMOCRATIC attempt at railroading is into a no-deal scenario. On the back of the revelations of the government’s no-deal planning (Yellowhammer) which government are now denying, I wouldn’t be too trusting of anything these people in government are saying.

On Saturday we sent our volunteers out to the Cross in #Chester and to Ellesmere Port to talk to the constituents of @justinmadders too. We wanted to ask whether Halloween Brexit would be a Trick or Treat. THREAD Additionally our message in Ellesmere Port included a discussion relating to the NO-Deal related job losses at Vauxhall expected if Boris Johnson gets his way. In #Chester we want to know if people would support a #RemainAlliance

Everybody watching the Great Hack on Netflix is truly shocked at the lengths to which our personal data was collected in Facebook and manipulated for political gain, even those who were already aware of it are astonished.

netflix.com/title/80117542… It’s far worse than you can imagine. The brexit result in 2016 is very clearly suspect. For those of you who keep insisting that Facebook did not make grannies in Carlisle vote for brexit well HOW DO YOU KNOW?

The spivs of brexit will have us believe they thought we were somehow cowed by the EU for 50 years whilst simultaneously being so important they would give them anything. I wonder why they would attempt to persuade everyone of these emotional reactions 🤔 Now I wonder why they would hide the reality of the gains and benefits and influence we enjoyed as a member country? Why would they want to damage our GDP and reduce our influence in the world

Time for a catch-up on our weekend campaign activities so here is a thread to bring you all up to date and share the observations and stories of the day. This week our main stall was in Ellesmere Port to talk to the people there. The local MP is @justinmadders. /thread The planned decision to visit Ellesmere Port turned out particularly prescient given the recent news of Vauxhall’s warnings about the consequences of the “Do or Die” no-deal being touted around by Johnson and Hunt

In order to mark 3 years since the disastrous EU referendum, our group was out campaigning on the streets of #chester for the whole weekend. We wanted to speak to residents and visitors about what #brexit issues were on their mind. It was a busy weekend as our action weekend coincided with the Midsummer Watch Parade so the streets were very busy with residents and visitors. We had our new banners to show off. Say no to No-deal. We have the best deal.

I keep hearing this myth put about by faragists and erg fans that people are happy with no deal as they asked about it in the referendum and still voted leave. Well I do remember whenever I saw a discussion about a deal I heard “of course we will get everything we want. They need us more than we need them. We will get a good deal”

Can you all please spell out this “compromise” you are all pushing, what does it look like and what is your mechanism for getting it. Which rights are being taken from leavers which they value in return to the rights being taken from us that we value? Perhaps your leavers would like to lose rights to some of our statutory holidays in return for their imaginary increased say of their rules?

.@SebDance on the money here. It’s unbelievable we are still getting this it’ll be alright in the night no-deal wto rubbish from Parliamentarians like Jenkins who are paid by us to understand these things and make sensible decisions The no-deal scenario has not changed. There is a reason why parliament has a majority against no-deal and there is a reason why EVEN the government who want us to brexit did but prepare for no-deal.

Euratom works for all of us to deliver treatment in our times of great medical need A small detail but extremely useful to keep our friends and families and businesses just a click away when we are travelling within the EU

New #hustingsthread.

Having looked at the opening remarks I have picked out highlights and links to some of the questions covered in our excellent #hustings last Saturday. #EUelections2019 #PeoplesVote “What Areas of Policy are better coordinated at EU level rather than National Level?”

Julie Ward of @uklabour views areas of refugee policy and sharing responsibility for them and also online safety and security, holding the platforms to account as crucial work for the EU.

It’s quite unbelievable what appalling candidates are standing in the North West region for the #EUelections2019 .

1st up we have Robinson. Racist, convicted criminal, banned from Facebook and PayPal for his far right toxic propaganda.

theguardian.com/world/2019/may… The Brexit Party (UKIP mark II) are presenting Clare Fox, a person of some very dubious opinions ove the years. I think Warrington especially and the rest of our region will have little time for her obnoxious past appeasement of IRA violence.

Attention #Chester. The forerunner of the EU (the European Coal and Steel Community) was created on 9 May 1950, and the day is celebrated througout the continent with a series of events and activities. So we are holding an event to mark the day. We are holding a Walk around the Walls of Chester, please come along with us for this fun and sociable events. As the walls have stood since Roman times, the event is about celebrating our historic attachment to the rest of Europe and our desire to maintain united within the EU.
