🧵 It’s Natural Family Planning Awareness Week! Humanae Vitae is FIRE. Here’s how Pope Paul VI predicted the future in that encyclical. 1/8 Image
In 1968, he said one of the consequences of artificial birth control would be greater marital infidelity. Amiright? #kinsey #divorce 2/8
Another consequence would be the “general lowering of moral standards”... 3/8

It amazes me that there are actually people who refuse to believe that many abortion providers break the law, despite testimony like this or Live Action's investigations or the full Center for Medical Progress videos.

Anthony Comstock was an anti-vice activist and United States Postal Inspector who opposed obscene literature, abortion, contraception, gambling, prostitution, and nudism.
He is responsible for the Comstock Laws, a set of federal acts passed in 1873, which criminalized the use of the USPS to distribute obscenity.
Famous texts that were suppressed as obscene under the Comstock Laws included Ulysses, Lady Chatterly’s Lover, The Decameron, For Whom the Bell Tolls, and many more.

@StudentsforLife It's amazing that after decades of denying that #MargaretSanger was #racist, #PlannedParenthood suddenly says she was racist. Without, of course, apologizing for the previous denials.
@StudentsforLife "We have also denounced Margaret Sanger’s racist and ableist statements. We commit to dismantling
institutional and structural racism and the very real ways racism affects the health of Black women.” theintell.com/story/opinion/…
@StudentsforLife Former Planned Parenthood Director #FayeWattleton “I think we have deluded ourselves into believing that people don't know that abortion is killing. So any pretense that abortion is not killing is a signal of our ambivalence, a signal that we cannot say yes, it kills a fetus.”

Why won't #prochoice condemn #PlannedParenthood's illegal and/or unethical actions? Planned Parenthood does not empower women. In fact, Planned Parenthood Keystone stopped providing health services, but kept doing abortions when PPE was scarce. A long thread follows

1) #IBM helped facilitate the #NaziHolocaust. They created the national census data used to round up the Jews. This is the same company that gave #BillGates his start through the influence of his mother, Mary Maxwell Gates.
2) #BillGates father, Bill Gates Sr. is an attorney who served on the board of #PlannedParenthood, an organization that was founded by #MargaretSanger (eugenics) to curb population of “undesirables” - people they thought should not proliferate. Sounds like Nazi Final Solution.
3) Planned Parenthood’s first Treasurer was Prescott Bush, father to George HW Bush and grandfather to George W Bush. Prescott was also the banker to the Nazi Party - the same party that used IBM’s data to round up the Jews.

#MargaretSanger wanted to use birth control to restrict pregnancy only to husbands and wives approved by the government. She was pro-sterilization of the "unfit" and pro-eugenics. nyu.edu/projects/sange…
While pro-eugenics, Sanger was actually anti-abortion, “[a]lthough abortion may be resorted to in order to save the life of the mother, the practice of it merely for limitation of offspring is dangerous and vicious.” nyu.edu/projects/sange…
Sanger also wrote "Birth Control will prevent abortion.... It will put an end to the tens of thousands of illegal operations to which women resort in despair. Mothers will not submit to the MURDER OF UNBORN CHILDREN when they can control conception." bit.ly/2pYSj4e

Who should we kill?

A meditation on #MargaretSanger's mal mot, "The most merciful thing that the large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it."

[From M. Sanger, Women and the New Race (1920).]
Oddly, I grew up thinking that mercy granted life, extended life, ameliorated pain or difficulty, removed unjustly imposed restrictions on liberty.

You know what I mean. You've granted mercies to others.

They arrived late after you labored to prepare a meal.
They failed to take care and caused damage to property, knocking over a lamp or running into your rear bumper.

Thousands of small acts of thoughtlessness or lack of self-awareness intrude on our peace, our contentment.

Confronting a society too sympathetic to the needy, the downtrodden, the outcast, too willing to lend aid and assistance to the enfeebled offspring of unfit parents, still, #MargaretSanger #persisted.
Always she pressed the case of desirable and worthy self-concern, rejection of the morality of care for the less fortunate, and brotherhood of man.
"We are paying for, and even submitting to, the dictates of an ever-increasing, unceasingly spawning class of human beings who never should have been born at all.

"Still, she persisted."

So inspirational. A photo montage features pioneering women, among them, #MargaretSanger.

She never succeeded in entirely eliminating blacks in America, still, she persisted:
Pushing her plan to convince blacks that it was to their benefit to reduce themselves, she proposed the "Negro Project"
She wrote of this project in a letter to Dr. Clarence Gamble. Sanger proposed a collaboration between the American Birth Control League and Sanger’s Birth Control Clinical Research Bureau.

@CNNSotu Oddly, you discuss #eugenics in America in the 1920s, but you never mention #MargaretSanger, the founder of @PPFA, and her approval of #GermanEugenicSterilzation, #KKK, and other efforts to eliminate the production of offspring by the #unfit.
I say, "oddly" with respect to your omission because Sanger's love affair with #eugenics ran so deeply through her activism that it constituted a part of the masthead of her "Birth Control Review."
Sanger didn't pull punches about the intended use of #eugenic #sterilization:

"There is only one reply to a request for a higher birthrate among the intelligent, and that is to ask the government to first take off the burdens of the insane and the feeble-minded from your backs."
