This 12(!) car #train arrived at #budapestnyugati from #záhony at the #Ukrainian #border this afternoon, it was a special train for the #Ukrainianrefugees fleeing the #WARINUKRAINE

And I have to say that I am positively surprised by how much help is happening in Eastern Europe!

And to put it in context, the "normal" train back to Zahony had 5 cars...

This is at the #keleti station in Budapest, normally this hall is completely empty, now it full with stands and people who #HelpUkrainianRefugees

Between the 2 most important stations in Budapest, Keleti and Nyugati, shuttle busses are running. As Budapest is a bit like Paris it has different stations for different directions, so for example people from #Romania who want to continue to the #czechrepublic have to transfer.

Also on both stations there is a lot of # information about where to go or how to continue.

Again more #information, this time on the #nyugati station in #Budapest.

There's clear #signs on where to go all over the stations, and also there is a lot of @magyarrendorseg Police as well as volunteers to help and guide the people.

In the 20 years that I am visiting Budapest I never had the chance to o visit this (royal?) #waitinghall) as normally it's always locked. Though I can't say I am happy with the reason I saw it now. But at least the space is used for a good cause! 💙💛

Outside are more stands.

And again there are #shuttlebusses, (back) to the Keleti station, to the #airport, a private bus to #austria and some busses to just sit in comfortably and relax for a moment or take a nap with some heating on.

Meanwhile loads of #goods are being loaded onto the #train back to Zahony

And to give you an idea how crazy long those #evacuation #trains are, you van barely see both ends here...

And the cars that come completely packed, also have to go back. Those gh that happens almost #empty. This is the #EuroNight #Ister to #Bucharest. A couple of months ago with 2 or 3 cars, normally with about 5(?). Today with 13(!)

But not just in #hungary and not just @mavstart is doing a lot, this was last night and this morning in #Vienna, where #volunteers and people from @unsereOEBB are there to help.

And also there is a lot of #information about where to go and how to do get there.

And those are #extra @ceskedrahy_ cars on #eurocity 105 #portamoravica yesterday, running #Przemyśl - #Bohumin. While on the station of #chałupki volunteers are handing out food and water.

As I already mentioned a couple of days ago @PKPIntercityPDP has put stickers on most of their cars, explaining that #Ukrainianrefugees can travel for free, and at the station in #poznan there is a special window for the people to go to. Also here there are a lot of volunteers.

So after I Boarded #EuroNight #Ister to #Bucharest last night, as soon I crossed the border I noted that even in #curtici, the small #Romanian #border #station, the platform was filled with water and food for the people traveling through there. But @FrontieraRO didn't allow pics.

So we continue to #garadenord in #bucuresti, where in the middle of the station hall this is the first point you walk into. There's an overview with departure times as well as some (commercial) offers.

Meanwhile quite some people were waiting for the #EuroNight 346 #dacia train to #Budapest and #Vienna that was departing soon after.

In the station hall those #tents are put as temporary #accomodation on the spot.

And both of the waiting halls are converted to #helping #centers for the #refugees arriving here at Gara de Nord in Bucharest.

And again there is a lot of #information all over the station. Partly in #english or #Romanian but mainly in #Ukrainian. As a lot of (older) #Ukrainians barely speak English I think they'll be pretty happy to get info in their own #language.

Both @TMobile and @LycamobileRO are handing out free #simcards so that people can use internet and stay in touch. Also @CFR_Calatori offers free #wifi all over the station.

@CFR_Calatori closed off one of the two #ticket halls, as this space is being used as a #refugee #shelter / help center as well.

And the former Springtime #restaurant is also converted into a space where the people van sit, eat and rest.

One more thing I just discovered:
On Gara de Nord in #Bucharest there is even a #stand for the #animals from #Refugees providing free #food, #transport #boxes and even #toys for the #refugeeanimals
