On November 10, 2018, Spanish-speaking immigration attorney attorney Nancy Arevalo traveled to Mexico, with support from the #L4GG Foundation, to provide legal help to people in the migrant caravan

I arrived at midnight on Saturday the 10th and met the other three U.S. immigration attorney volunteers whom I was going to work with for the weekend - Rebecca, Charlene, and Graham. That was the entire legal team for those days, for over 5,000 people in the caravan.

When the Trump administration began the family separation policy, they first denied it existed. Then Sessions officially announced the policy, ridiculously proclaiming that the Bible supported it.

Trump lied and blamed Democrats for creating the policy.

There must be hearings about who began this, when, what instructions they gave to CBP, what legal authority they claimed supports it and what their implementation plan was.

Of course, it’s clear they had no plan. They were playing with children’s lives.

Yes, it was wonderful to see those Democratic candidates win. And nice to see our effort rewarded.

With control of the House, we now have a Constitutional check on the president PLUS we control more governorships and state legislatures

But there’s still a TON of work to do.
As the past few days have shown, we still have a corrupt president: compromised by Russia, beholden to Saudi Arabia, unwilling to acknowledge basic facts about climate change and seemingly unconcerned about the sanctity of human life.

Last week a federal court ordered all family separations to stop.
The court also ordered the government to reunite all families within 14 days for children under 5. All others, 30 days.
2/ The court made clear that the law as practiced in the United States applies to migrants at the border.

This means any separations must occur under court supervision and parents whose children are removed must be offered court-appointed lawyers.

Why, as a matter of fact I do know the difference between the 1465 unaccounted children and the new policy. Thank you for insulting my intelligence.
And thank you for not addressing the question I asked about you opposing the new policy.
Did you know some of these families are legally seeking asylum?
And that crossing the border illegally is a misdemeanor?
Do we take kids away from people who commit misdemeanors?
