Do you ever stop and notice the things that are just taken as self-evidently absurd and scary and dangerous these days, and then realize how many of them are actually good, and how much time and money and effort has been expended in making us think otherwise?

The thing about any “problem” I can think of with open borders is they are all problems with solutions, but solutions that people who want to build a wall would rather not enact.

The thing about opening the borders is, it might make the problems that need to be solved more obvious. Which might mean we would need to solve them. Which might be why people who don’t seem to want to solve these problems want closed borders.
If you’re big on strong borders and none of this is resonating with you, well, we still have the concentration camps and the kidnapped kids and what not, so maybe that moves the needle for you.

Hot take: An open border isn’t just an indicator of a free and healthy and peaceful society, it naturally helps create those outcomes, and the exact opposite is true of a policed border.
