Kagan with the 🔥, accuses the conservative majority of being activist judges who decided to overrule Abood just bc they wanted to.

"The majority is bursting with pride over what it has accomplished."
Kagan: "For that reason, almost all economic and regulatory policy affects or touches speech. So the majority’s road runs long. And at every stop are black-robed rulers overriding citizens’ choices."

The two kids had names. They were Jakelin Caal and Felipe Gomez Alonzo. They were 7 and 8.
Trump is also wrong here. The father of the "young girl," whose name was Jakelin Caal, has vehemently denied that he didn't give his daughter water. He says he made sure she was fed & had water.
Here's what Jakelin's father said: "Jakelin had not been crossing the desert for days. Jakelin's father took care of Jakelin — made sure she was fed and had sufficient water. ... She had not suffered from a lack of water or food prior to approaching the border"

While on the surface, Trump taking on Roberts appears exceedingly stupid, as Trump is likely to continue to have issues in front of the court that he is now antagonizing, effectively, it is not as as stupid as it seems. Assuming that ->

 the SCOTUS Justices are basically honest to their beliefs (however much you disagree w some those beliefs or find their logic flawed, it is basically the case, esp for the L side of the court), even if justices from either side personally hate Trump & what he stands for, ->

they will pretty much do their sworn duty to put their personal feelings aside and decide based upon their beliefs. So what does Trump have to lose? Not much, since it is highly unlikely that any single Justice who would have voted to side with Trump on an issue ->

One of the only big opinions left for #SCOTUS to issue is #Janus, where plaintiffs seek to ban security fees for all public unions.

Unions are widely expected to lose. But pay close attention to HOW they lose. The reasoning the Court uses matters a lot.
Let me explain.

The prior case law on this issue is Abood v. Detroit Board of Education. In that ruling, #SCOTUS said security fees are not compelled speech — as long as they don't fund political activity, and unions keep a firewall between bargaining and political campaigning.
In other words, #SCOTUS said if a union is campaigning for a political candidate, that's compelled speech, and workers not in the union can't be made to pay fees for that purpose — BUT if they're using the money to bargain contracts for workers, that's not speech and is allowed.
