The two kids had names. They were Jakelin Caal and Felipe Gomez Alonzo. They were 7 and 8.
Trump is also wrong here. The father of the "young girl," whose name was Jakelin Caal, has vehemently denied that he didn't give his daughter water. He says he made sure she was fed & had water.
Here's what Jakelin's father said: "Jakelin had not been crossing the desert for days. Jakelin's father took care of Jakelin — made sure she was fed and had sufficient water. ... She had not suffered from a lack of water or food prior to approaching the border" 
Trump also says Felipe Gomez Alonzo was "very sick before" he went into CBP custody. That's also wrong. He had been in custody for 7 days when he suddenly began experiencing flu symptoms.
The medical examiner says Felipe died from Influenza B. The World Health Organization says the influenza incubtion period is 1-4 days. He was in CBP custody for 7 days. who.int/news-room/fact…
These were Trump's first comments on the deaths of the two children. This was airing on Fox about 40 mins before Trump's tweets, while this was on CNN 15 before. The president has no events scheduled today.
