/ On vitality, loss, and restoration of three entangled realities.

This is my transformation of @vgr post on reality maintenance (ribbonfarm.com/2018/05/29/rea…) into pop psychology that is simple enough for me to engage with fully.
/ Material reality, social reality, and self-narrative reality are three realities that are linked merely by virtue of arising in the same person.
/ These realities can be filled with vitality; but vitality is inevitably lost in time, and must be restored.
/ Material reality is the most commonly addressed reality in today's discourse. It is concerned with such items as health and wealth. Loss occurs when things don't go your way. It is restored after loss by material actions that achieve goals.
/ Social reality is concerned with what groups you are truly a part of. Loss occurs when you don't resonate with a group anymore, or are ejected. It is restored after loss by mimetic action (imitation of group members) in the hope of being accepted as one of the in-group.
/ Self-narrative reality is concerned with who you see yourself to be. Loss occurs when you don't know what you stand for, or care about, anymore. It is restored after loss by taking self-defining actions that prove to yourself a new regime of meaning.
/ All these realities are continuously being reshaped by virtue of their entanglement with each other, and with all other social, self-narrative, and material realities in the world. It is this entanglement that guarantees continual loss, and so requires continual restoration.
/ Loss of social reality without restoration is to be outcast. Loss of self-narrative reality without restoration is to become nihilist. Loss of material reality without restoration is to struggle at the most basic level of biological life.
/ It's about playing an infinite game in three dimensions.
