This points to No. 10 having made up its mind about the toxicity of @BorisJohnson. Which makes sense. His ability to fight proxy wars, betray colleagues, and barefacedly lie is hard to get past.
But the appointment of @DominicRaab suggests she just blinked. /2
This doesn't suggest the Brexit crew feel particularly confident about rolling May any time soon. /3
And now @realDonaldTrump is sticking his oar in. I can see this simultaneously steeling Brexiteer and Remainer resolve. / 4
The main thing I am going to miss now David Davis has gone is the parody.

In the latest series Ep 4 at 25.50 - the final skit - Davis resigns and moves to Panama.… /5
David Davis as Brexit Bulldog, on Dead Ringers compilation from 2017, which captures very accurately what it has been like having him as the UK Brexit Secretary for the past 2 years. /6
As we wait for the next #Brexiteer move, #BrexitShambles is trending highly on UK twitter, inspired by this glorious metaphor. /7
The Etonian tones of Jacob Rees Mogg toffsplaining why everybody who disagrees with him is wrong on LBC. If @BorisJohnson bottles it again (which seems likely), it does look as if Mogg will have a tilt at the leadership. /8
There is now fairly feverish interest in the whereabouts of @BorisJohnson, is he at the COBRA (National Security) meeting or not? According to some official sources he is but then there is this. /9
Meanwhile @theresa_may's most loyal lieutenant, the always reasonable Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt is pouring oil on the troubled waters. Hope springs eternal. /10
Today BBC's @daily_politics is well worth a watch @bbclaurak @JPonpolitics and @Jo_Coburn explaining events and interrogating #Brexiteers who clearly appear to be split over what happens next. /11…
David Davis's Under-Secretary for Brexit @SteveBakerHW's IV is particularly revealing. Calling for calm whilst attacking those who cannot fight back, the public servants.

His remarks about childishness seem particularly ironic. /12
After Baker calls for calm from fellow MPs, @Jo_Coburn asks @SteveBakerHW how his resignation is helpful in calming the situation. His answer is not convincing. By 11am he appears to have realised there is no time for the latest #Brexiteer tantrum. /13
Today's drama, following the weekend's "Shiny Turd" headlines have the hallmarks of a @BorisJohnson plot. An eye catching headline, absent any strategy or rationale, followed by a game of where's Boris as he hides out & figures out how to save his skin. /14 #BrexitShambles /14
After a pot of honey hiding out in his burrow, accompanied by some ruminating, @BorisJohnson has decided, for a change, not to cut and run. He's resigned. Game on. /14
The share market seems to be fairly happy to see him go - still betting on the last stand of the Brexiteers being a fizzer & soft or no Brexit following. The PM is due to speak in three minutes. #BrexitShambles /15
This, frankly, is what @theresa_may needs, but it could be wishful thinking from the #Brexiteer side of this scrap. So far Leadsome, Gove and Raab have publicly said they are not going and some lesser ministers have changed their minds.
Things are moving remarkably fast. The assumption seems to be that @BorisJohnson will definitely mount a leadership challenge. However I suspect expecting two decisions in one day from a Bojo under pressure is a forlorn hope. /17
