.@LenoirForMayor agreed to this debate weeks ago, knowing that I was the moderator. The only thing that’s changed between the time he gave his word to participate and the time he broke his word is the lawsuit.

As a journalist, I’m careful not to endorse candidates. I have never given to a political campaign, I don’t sign petitions of any kind, I have never had a campaign sign in my yard, I don’t join participate in protests - because I’m a journalist.
I’m disappointed at @LenoirForMayor’s choice - because it is that - to not make his case for the county’s top job in front of what would likely be the first majority black audience he’s faced. @NAACPMemphis
