I and many others have called @Wikileaks a useful conduit for the Russian intelligence agencies for years. that American media used material published by @Wikileaks, whether provided by Chelsea Manning or the Panama Papers or DNC hacks, doesn't make them arms of GRU.
The American media tradition, protected by the Constitution as is playing out in CA this week, is that everything in the public domain can be used without fear or hesitation.
