What if I’m anti capitalist but also skeptical of white hetero patriarchal socialism
If anyone wants to know why I tweeted this, it’s because I wanted to see how many people agree, I’m not looking for an answer — the tweet IS the answer.
Someone responded that this is about me passively “hating” on particular politician — it’s not. It’s about not implementing a system laid on top of another system that continues systemic oppression of those outside the white hetero patriarchy
We can’t only believe deconstructing capitalism will fix everything - capitalism uses racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, ableism, to function at full capacity. They’re socially engrained belief systems which must be deconstructed at the same time as capitalism.
So, to reduce my statement to be about one person, is to prove it correct: whiteness, heteroness, and patriarchal leadership runs a risk of recreating all the things listed above, but just with economic equality as the scapegoat.
I feel like Marty McFly in BTTF II when he’s like “guys guys guys, all I want is a Pepsi,” and the Pepsi in this here metaphor is equality on all fronts, levels
