Not only do Medicaid work requirements kick people off their coverage, they cost states MORE to enforce than they could ever save.

And based on results of past work-tested programs, they'll almost certainly not increase employment either.

Let me put it this way.

These GOP states imposing work requirements on Medicaid could just instead enact a policy where they pick 100 random poor people and shoot them with a mortar, and that would be cheaper, kill fewer people, and do exactly as much for their labor markets.
And frankly, since the *only* point of adding work requirements to Medicaid seems to be to shame and criminalize poverty, my suggestion seems like a much more direct, straightforward way to do it.
