Okay okay my fellow people who grew up in poverty or in very working class areas:

Name one thing you thought was ‘only for posh people’ when you were growing up that you now realise is for anyone.

I have TONNES!
The first one that springs to mind is Sainsbury’s. I was always told that Sainsbury’s was for rich and posh people and they went to do their shopping there and then had lunch in the cafe lmfao - I was about 20 before I set foot in one
Next one is Walkers Crisps. HAHAHAHA! God I woulda killed for walkers crisps at school. We had like the betterbuy ones from the supermarket and I remember always trying to hide them at lunch time and told everyone I had walkers but I had never had them.

This article is so important to me. I was raped 2 days after giving birth (at 17yo) which ripped open 47 stitches & caused very serious injuries.

This is much more common than we think

However, I wholly disagree that this issue of men raping women shortly after childbirth will be resolved by educating partners on why women can’t have sex after giving birth. All of these women were raped by men who couldn’t give a fuck about them. This isn’t lack of education.
We have a very serious misunderstanding of rape and sexual violence towards women if we believe that educating men would stop a rapist from holding a woman down after she’s given birth and taking what he feels entitled to

Dad was detained in a #Texas detention center where @RAICESTEXAS consulted. Dad accepted a deportation to be quickly reunited w/ his infant child. However, the Dad was deported & NOT his child. The now 8-month-old baby has been in ORR custody for 4 months. #EndFamilySeparation

Had a nasty little accident this morning. Nothing life-threatening, just blood and broken bone. Thought I’d tweet about my NHS experience as it unfolds.
Operation in the morning. Will probably be an inpatient until late Monday. I’m in a big London teaching hospital.
Triage: pretty efficient and quick. No-nonsense. Initial wait of 40mins for an X-ray maybe a little too long — I bled quite a bit on the floor of the waiting room and it wasn’t nice for others. X-ray staff were charming. Other patients also really lovely. Strangers.
