Rug dealers are a constant in low-to-middle-grade international financial fuckery and have been *forever.* If a journalist is baffled at a rug dealer coming up in such a case, they're advertising that they don't know a thing and should probably be covering horse racing instead.
This is mostly because, at any given time, there are like seven people on the planet who actually know what any given rug is actually worth. Transit the Middle East and Central Asia for some years and you'll meet 5000 people who claim to know. 4999 of them are wrong.

I did some incredibly stupid fucking things in Afghanistan. Mostly because I'd volunteered for it out of anger in the first place, and then I ended up with no supervision, literally no supervision at all, in country.
But I never did that stupid shit alone. Someone always had my back. Usually it was 2 or 3 Marines, or a couple of British military cops. And it was never a feeling of "these guys won't let me get shot." It was more like "these guys won't let me get shot more than 5 or 6 times."
And because I knew they had my back, and I had theirs, we leaned way the fuck out and did a lot of things no one else was doing, that needed to be done. We were able to take those risks because we knew we had support.

A few things bother me about Gina Haspel that I don't see getting any play in the news. First is the stupidity of many of her answers. Yes, stupidity. She appears to be a profoundly stupid person.
“I’m not going to sit here, with the benefit of hindsight, and judge the very good people who made hard decisions, who were running the agency in very extraordinary circumstances,” she told the Senate Intelligence Committee.
She's applying for the job of Director. It is literally part of the job to judge what works & what doesn't, to judge what needs to be done to correct things when a line of work is unsuccessful. A very important part of the job. And she straight up says she's not doing it. Stupid.

0600 Eastern: Paul Manafort calls 911, saying he thinks his morning coffee may taste like polonium. The operator replies "Bitch, you should've thought about that before you took that dirty money," and hangs up.
0645: George Papodopoulopoulooza knocks on Manafort's door. He brought donuts like every day since 5 Oct for no reason. Manafort sees 9-foot antenna poking from Poopodolomite's jacket & freaks out. "It's for my new iphone," says Porpoluffagus. "Fuckin AT&T network, right? Haha."
0705: Manafort's phone rings. He crawls out from under his bed to answer. A dry, stern voice on the other end says "I've never done this before, but I have to ask you, do you have Prince Albert in a can?" "What the fuck?" Manafort replies. "Is this Bob Mueller?"

Gist: I heard a Bishop signed a cheque from his school's account and gave N236 Million as gift to two men who came to him for prayers. His bankers knowing he couldnt have had dealings with these men, who are known for Yahoo+ at Sagamu, returned the cheque inspite of confirmation.
Bishop had a fight with everyone who queried rationale behind the gift. After several days, his bank agreed to release the funds after asking him to sign indemnity, which he did. A week later, he called his bank to ask what a N236Million debit from his account is all about.

For Making Profit, Expectancy Should Be Positive Number (2/n)

I look back at the stalking and execution of Trayvon Martin and the firing squad execution of the children at Sandy Hook and how this country decided to debate both

and, for me and my life, those honestly feel like the moments where I knew America was irredeemable.
As a little kid, I saw these pictures. Others are familiar with them and ones like them. They're photos of folks gathered around for the lynching of black people.

More evidence is surfacing that the 'secret society' inside the DOJ that wanted to obstruct/impeach the incoming Trump administration focused their efforts on turning Flynn's phone calls with Russian ambassador Kislyak into a major crime to be investigated by THEM.
As I explain in the unrolled tweet thread linked above, to do this, the plotters used allies in the media to launch a false narrative that an intel report had caught Flynn doing something shady & corrupt.
